Now, I could be very wrong about the order of things, but to me it seems like you've influenced more KZbinrs to start consolidating progress into one video. Either way it goes, I cant imagine the work that goes into it; especially the uncontrollables like wishing you'd gotten a certain shot in the older footage... losing footage 🥴 (Knock on wood). The effort is greatly appreciated + we also get to enjoy the videos where you take us along in real-time. Love the variety on your channelS. 🔌✌🏿

🎢 I love how chill you are with pests! Have you never had a full on infestation that moved to multiple plants? As a beginner I had basically a whole house thrips infestation. Now I know what to look for and am much more relaxed and careful about examining my plants regularly and treating as needed. Nothing more satisfying than squishing a stray thrips!

First I want to thank you for ALL your devotion to us and your delightful way of sharing your knowledge. It is so encouraging, that I'm sharing and translating your videos to Germans not fluent in the English language. Since so many of us live in shoe-box apartments, it allows us to fullfill our dreams of majestic plants. You now have a following of helicopter plant parents around FFM, too. 😊 Now I'd like your guidance on potting. Clearly I miscalulated. About a month ago, I placed my Monstera cutting onto a 10cm D-pole (filled with your Monstera recipe w New Zealand tree Fern Fiber) into a 17cm pot. Within this short time, she has developed 1.5 leaves (2nd one is not unfurled yet.) So she clearly loves her home. PROBLEM: Her roots are already growing out of the pot on the bottom AND Top MASSIVELY! I know they should be rootbound, but I must repot. How large should I go? 1 developing Air root is already working into the pole D-style pole. Can this style of pole even accomodate the Monstera root system? The same week I put my Manjula pothos on the same size pole, also into a 17cm pot. I even took unrooted leaf clippings in. They drooped about for a week or two, but I can already see the roots and al 3 leaves are perky. The rooted cuttings are shooting out a new leaf almost weekly!! It's crazy! PROBLEM: Those roots (even though much finer) are also coming out of the bottom of the pot a good 4-5cm already. Should I cut that, till the roots get stronger or repot? This year Germany has major humidity and heat. We've been at 80% and 32°C!!! Isn't it better to do this during our growing season? I'm just apprehensive because they are so delicate. See my dilemma? I'd also wriyten you once, regarding mold on the pole where was light. Well, it turned out to be a film that collected on the NZ Tree Fern Fibers. I was using pyretherin to get rid of knats. 😂 Just incase somebody else can use this info. Your family must be so proud of your venture! 👏 Kudos👌
@sydneyplantguy3 ай бұрын
Thank you :) regarding roots coming out the bottom - that does noy mean the llant is root bound! Roots like oxygen so that’s why they often find their way out of the pot to look for oxygen :) there’s no right or weong answer here, especially without seeing a photo of the plant but if u want to repot, do it when the conditions are at their best :)

Gorgeous!! I got a Florida beauty and a ghost node last year. The ghost node has been a constant struggle. It’s been stalled at two babies leaves for probably almost 6 months by now. I’m pretty stumped about what’s keeping it from growing. The Florida beauty node grew way better, throwing semi-mature shaped leaves right away. But they’ve all been full variegated 😢 I trimmed it back to an older node and am hoping against hope Growing rare nodes is a fun gamble, but I think I’ll be sticking to TC plantlets and more progressed propagations. I’ve had too many nodes turn out full reverted or full variegated, which has taken away from the fun of it for me. The gamble is fun but the “losing” isn’t 😂 🎢

Well done again Jan. So well documented over a year's time! ( Can't help but notice you've got your Ikea light by the stairs with a nice little plant grouping behind you there . Very pretty😻)I can concur the easy going nature of the Philodendron Florida Green hybrids ( P. Squamiferum X P. Pedatum) I have Florida Beauty, Ghost mint and solid green Florida ( either reverted or mis- marked Beauty)all grouped with several other moss poles which are keeping 65-70% humidity in a warm 68-70°F corner with a Mother grow light. My variegated Beauty and Ghost seem to be tracking with your 6 month mark with short internodes hanging out low on the moss poles. The solid green however has begun to climb it's second pole topper with 7-8 cm internodal spacing. I have the variegated on the same pole hoping to fill in the gaps nicely. Probably only gonna chop solid green to let the variegated Beauty catch up. 😻

Liked the video very much. It took care of my fears that stopped me doing this earlier. Totally off the subject, the foliage focus spray, when do you spray the leaves (for example, day or evening)? Do you spray and leave it or do you wipe them immediately? Btw, the ups and downs with the beauty, that happens. Really thought you just cruised through the whole thing seamlessly. Made this much more attainable to do. 🎉
@sydneyplantguy3 ай бұрын
Thank you :) i don’t use it as a foliar spray, I use the nutrients with my weekly watering :)
