SYF 2011 Maris Stella High School (Band no. 44)

All the 4 schools that received Gold with Honours deserved it. They really set the bar high. It's just a coincidence that all 4 schools are all-boys institution. There's no bias and schools that got gold are also deserving and should be proud of their achievement too.

@inuwiz for ur info, syf 2007 set piece is sunrise or safari. st andrews play sunrise and get gold. I was one of audience there, they realli shd deserve GWH. if u check syf 2007, all GWH play safari

@suxmaple oh please. i'm from SA. my seniors played safari in 2007. and imo we really deserved the GWH in 2011.

in my humble opinion, it is not about the choice of set piece, but how it is played. TKGS played their choice piece very well, but their TSF has some tempo unsteadiness and wasnt delivered as well as their choice piece

Ive learned something new for this syf 2011 . "Silver is a new Gold" Judges are strict this year ..... and one of the judges actually judge our Choice Piece by comparing our playing and his Religion -.- so the next two years , no Concert Band dares to play Opera songs ... like my school .... so much disappointing ... tsktsktsk ...

@suxmaple i don't really think so. I was present there myself when Marist Stella presented. If you hear their Set piece. It's clearly and nicely played. You hear everything clearly. Their choice piece was awesome as well. I think it's you yourself being Biased to Tanjong Katong girls and against Marist Stella. Like you said. "To me". Those were the judges decisions. I think Marist Stella deserved the GWH. They have gotten gold for years.

the choice of your words is too harsh. it wasnt the fault of the band for being late. they were alrd prepared at 8. meaning they'll be there at 9.40 however the bus came an hour late. just letting u know the details

Well I think that we shouldn't base who's better by the SYF results yea? And I don't think any of us here is qualified enough to judge the SYF. That's why we have the judges :)
