@@ewelinanajgebauer8862 The father was French. He moved to Poland at the age of 16 and lost connections with his country of birth. Fryderyk was raised as a Pole. As an adult, he moved to France and - mostly because of political reasons - stayed there, eventually obtaining French citizenship. However he remained close to the community of Polish people living in exile. He never considered himself French and it's said that he never felt comfortable speaking French language. In conclusion, although he had some ties to France, he is considered 100% Polish.

So apparently, this is the source of the Polish EAS Alarm from 1939. Apparently it was never used as an alert signal, but rather a radio station jingle that would be played at certain points.

Correct. This was used by the antenna "Warsaw 1" Untill they changed it in 1935 to the jingle people think is the old "Polish EAS", Which are actually notes from the Polish Army Anthem. The Polish Army blew up Warsaw 1 mid-war because they didn't want the germans to take the emission antenna. This is the jingle used in "Warsaw 2" (which was the one where people mostly tuned in after Warsaw 1 was blown up) and in the Warsaw invasion, after this jingle, they announced the invasion of Warsaw.

This radio signal was used to quietly chilling effect in the film 'Dangerous Moonlight'. While the Polish airmen drew lots to see who would leave on a final bombing raid before the German occupation was total, this played on a radio in the background. A really memorable scene.

Sad that is prob one of the last things ppl heard while the German army was invading the country and starting a war of suffering just imagine, you woke up early in the morning, the sound of distant gun fire echo in your head that’s quickly cut off by this jingle, you have chills listening to it so you change the channel, “the Germans are 15 miles away from Warsaw” you change back to the jingle, you lay on the rocking chair beside you and watch as the frontline gets closer and closer to your house, the jingle is as loud as ever as a rouge artillery bomb is going towards you, your suffering is over but suffering has just started for the rest of the world

its kinda scary, but if you were in the 1939. you hear the message about germany invade poland. and also, if youre interested, its scary because of these days was radio really low quality. this is just a normal piano.
