ALL SERBIA VIDEOS: bit.ly/3jBJ6Iy
I started my day in Negotin, a small town strategically located in between the border of Romania as well as Bulgaria. I was heading to Zaječar (Зајечар) with the final destination being Knjazevac (Књажевац). I made a stop at Rajac and was humbled by the local interaction I got to experience, all thanks to Mira. As I was leaving Rajac, they gave me free wine to showcase their kind hospitality. The last leg of the journey was getting exciting as I took some off-road riding. I pushed my limit by riding these remote roads and overcoming my fear!

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveler and KZbin creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveler, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on KZbin, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on KZbin.

Aye one of the main tenants of serbian culture is to be as hospitable as possible to any guests. Guest is a loose term though, sometimes when somebody asks you a question of where to go, in your mind you automatically treat him as a guest of your and boom instantly want to help him even more than necessary.

@@Joeoi Is Europe the European Union? Isn’t the Balkans Europe? I know that Serbia believes in the Orthodox Church. I really don't know how you want to define Europe. Serbia is not a communist country now. To say that the Bering Strait from eastern Germany is not Europe. As far as I know, the Paris Commune was the first to try to establish a socialist regime, so Paris is not Europe. Don't export your ideology here. I know that Catholic groups have killed many innocent women in the name of punishing witches. The fourth crusade captured Constantinople. The Crusaders burned, killed, gunned down in Constantinople and persecuted the brother Orthodox Church, who was also a Christian.

The fact that you as a single woman can travel alone through these parts, unmolested speaks volumes of the place and its people. You really cant do that in most of the world today. When your Big Media feeds you information it's more than normal that it influences your opinions, that's why they exist, not for giving information, but rather for feeding narratives and "sculpting" points of view of the population. It's pretty much the same all over the world, the Nazis started it, then the Americans saw the power of it and it spread around the "Free World".

We have recently decided to leave Australia and move back home to Serbia after 49yrs living in the west. My 12 yr old son can’t wait and near there can I. Much respect for your courage and a big thank you for sharing your journey. I’ve seen my country in a whole different way - thank you !

Of course there is the tourist aspect, but normallly she wouldn't hold any tourist by the arm to show them her village. This is a genuine hospitality. By the way, that old cemetery, and those grave stones, most of them are of indigenous Vlach-Serbian origin, but would not be surprised to see Scordisci (Celto-Dacian-Thracian) evidence..

Negotin is Celtic name for a fortress (tin) from which Celtic warriors would go on their "tourist tours" to plunder and what-not. There are many places with Celtic names because some 2.000 and more years Celts lived in these lands along with other nations. Celts also founded Belgrade and named it Sindidunum (renamed by Romans to Singidunum).

Rajachke pimnice (wine cellars) is a fine destination, though underrated. When the place was at its prime (19th century) they produced huge quantities of wine and exported it to France! The region got rich, which can be seen in the number and architecture of the wine cellars. There are more villages that have them. The graveyard is very significant for the inscriptions on the tombstones that do not belong to the Serbian tradition. Today, there are few cellars that produce quality wine, though some of them are working on it. We had a wonderful lunch once in one if the wine cellars functioning as a small restaurant.

You're really a very adventurous lady and I'm proud of you. You get along well with everyone on the way and that's why they always assist and treated you as a friend. This is the type of videos of non-touristy places that we all love to see. I hope you'll have a safe journey to wherever you go.

As always, awesome view of the green countryside, great architecture as well and yet some people told me that no one actually goes to Serbia.. ( I have no idea why they said that) It has it's own charm ( And yes, no country is perfect )..and yes, do get plenty of good rest before heading out.... Great experience to interact with locals. ..Stay safe, ride safely , happy exploring.

@@alokin8923 Americans in Serbia are best example. Serbia was bombed by NATO is 1999, mostly by USA, and today plenty of Americans have amazing time in Serbia, and i think it`s telling enough. I think that everyone who is behavior normal, decent and good will be very welcome and get great hospitality.
