In 1955 the first gas well in the history of east pakistan (Bangladesh) was discovered here,but before the inauguration of this gas field a terrible explosion was occured due to the excess pressure of gas over this area.This gas well is currently abandoned under the supervision of Sylhet gas fields Ltd(SGFL).In addition to this well(no 1)there are more 7 gas wells are existing in this Haripur area,Which some of these are active some are inactive. *Request to everyone~please dont'play with fire.
