In this video: the three rules to pronounce and write short and long vowels in closed and open syllables.
The common spelling rule is simple: write short and long sounds phoneticly with single and double vowels.
But to spell correctly, you need the 3 spelling rules for closed and open syllables. Rule 1: short vowels (second syllable: double consonants!). Rule 2: long vowels (open syllable: one single vowel!). Rule 3: composed vowels (more syllables: no change!). With clear explanation!
