... Lol, I remember the SONY KV-5000 5" Trinitron color TV, which fascinated me. I was a young major appliance salesman at the time (late '70's). SONY also had a roll-around TV stand for their 12" Trinitron, which was very popular. That stand was also diabolically hard to assemble, so eventually I told my customers that if they bought one, I'd happily assemble it for them. After assembly, I'd turn the cart upside down, and on the underside of the bottom shelf, I'd write *"Lovingly Assembled By Elves In The Magic Forest".* I have always found ways to make my own fun. One day, I was assembling one of these carts ... and when the time came to "undersign" the cart's bottom shelf, I flipped the cart over ... and to my amazement, there, in elegantly flowing assembly line hot glue gun calligraphy, was the name "Conehita". Someone in the SONY assembly plant had evidently been as bored as I was with my own job half a world away, and secretly signed her own name. So ... I added . LOVINGLY ASSEMBLED BY CONEHITA AND THE ELVES IN THE MAGIC FOREST.

I connected a dvd player to the tv to test it. I would think a cable box would connect the same way. They also make HDMI to Composite converters to connect an Amazon fire stick.

Adding to his response, there are some little analog tv transmitters that let you connect HDMI's to it an transmit in a lower tv channel, i don't know of they are legal in some countries, but at least in México and because of the little transmit power they are, but it's more work that rather a direct hdmi to coaxial or RCA adapters.
