So true. And I think Mithos is a fantastic villain. The entire story we hear about this great hero who did all these amazing things for the world, only to find out that in the end he created a destructive world out of Sylvarant and Thethe'alla in an attempt to revive his sister through the Chosen and create an age of lifeless beings. And upon his defeat he recognizes there's a part of him that could have taken a different path, but in the end he has no regrets and would make the same choice all over if he could. So strong is his conviction and belief in his own ideals. He truly didn't see himself as the villain. And as far as Tales villains go, I think he's one of the best.

The broken necklace was a good way to convey Lloyd's immaturity as well as his conviction to do the right thing as the necklace broke when he tried to help but he still had the necklace because he hadn't finished it. By having him already have it complete and give it to her on time we are not shown how much of a screw up he is and takes away the punctuation of him making her necklace into a cruxious crystal and giving her her gift "better late than never" as he does this around where he is growing as a person, leader and hero.

I know they can't keep every scene from the game considering how long it is even if you skip all the side quests but how the hell did the scene of llyold getting kicked out of the village not make the cut? I liked Marble's story but I can understand why it was cut considering the work that goes into the back story and future events, but there was no reason to cut the scene where llyold was getting kicked out. It was a gut wrenching scene that showed some of the deep psychology and ugliness of humans which left you feeling a little angry and disgusted. It was that scene that got me so deeply involved in the story of the game( Originally. As I went further it just kept getting better) and I just can't believe they cut it. Side complaint. They really overplayed the exspheres. While it's true that the game kinda underplayed the fact that llyold's exsphere was special this is way over the top. I don't mind the lightshow at the end but seriously why make it so that exspheres are unknown? Just seems unnecessary to me. Same with his mother talking to him, frankly that was as corny as it gets. Also what was the point of making it that exspheres were unknown from a writing perspective? It wouldn't have taken up more time if exspheres were common knowledge like in the game so I just don't see the point of making it unknown.

@@CloisteredExplorer Most of Lloyd's skills came from his ultimate exsphere. It was always evolving too. It would eventually become a Cruxis Crystal, but at what magnitude is not certain. Kvar was in charge of the experiment & Lloyd's exsphere was to be a gift to Mithos, I thought Mithos Cruxis Crystal was already unique though. But it must've been a incredibly special exsphere, the game & the Anime show it's potential. Lloyd took that blast head on & was unharmed due to it.

Dwarves are very tough for their size, the work they specialise in can only be handled by them due to their strength. Lloyd was an exception, but it was only due to his exsphere imbuing him with much strength I believe.

You don't really have to be a gamer to enjoy RPGs these days. There's a lot of media based around them these days. You can find video compilations of all the story parts from the games, you can find anime like this one based on the game, you can watch let's plays, there's tons of options for you to chose how you enjoy them. I do it with horror games because I like them but am too scared to play them myself.

But that's never going to happen unfortunately for someone like me who enjoyed the original storyline of the game. nope. those are the games which have nothing to do with each other in terms of story. think of final fantasy and how each game has a different setting. there's no specific order. unless you include direct sequels like tales of xillia 2 or symphonia dawn of the new world. if you have a ps3 and are interested in them I would recommend starting with symphonia. its easily the best I've played of the all of the few I've finished. I don't have an Xbox 360 so sadly vesperia isnt an option .

+Black Shinigami well... since there are a lot of tales... the first one to exist was tales of phantasia for the snes and ps1. In english the game boy advance version. I dont know if phantasia had an animation tho.

rbrads2292 Rain can't put out a severe fire. It can slow it down by cooling it and soaking stuff that isn't burning, making them harder to burn, but rain can't put out a fire. EVENTUALLY the fire will go out since it will burn through the stuff faster than it can spread to the soaked stuff but it's gonna take a while, a long while.
