My, my, my - PapaCat has done it again! I’ve always loved this song, but I absolutely love how you used the reprise to begin the song and you took us to church with Izora and Martha’s groans and moans, then you dropped that beat in just like a professional! You definitely should deserve a Grammy for your mix of the competing “Queen of Disco”, haha! Now I’m waiting on you to do the B side of this Fantasy single - “Dance (Disco Heat)” - so you can take me to church again with the Two Tons o’ Fun/Weather Girls! I mean...if Sylvester hadn’t taken Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes-Armstrong along with him, I have no clue where he would have been! All three of them take you to what I call a church deep in the country, on the other side of a creek, and you aren’t even in a church, haha! The genius of the Fantasy team of James [Jim] “Tip” Wirrick, Sylvester, and Patrick Cowley are definitely something. I can easily compare them to the Summer, Moroder, and Bellotte Casablanca team, although I can’t say which group of singer-songwriters is better without being partial to my girl, the Queen, Ms. Donna Summer. Perfect opening for Church of the Disco Heat, and those of us present could but testify as the music and words took us over, never stopping to look back as uplifting gospel music met propulsive electronic synth, the combination propelled us skyward to heights we had never been. Though when it was over we knew we had been in the enthralling embrace of Sylvester. DJDCV2, your uncanny ability to present a remix that serves the artist continues to stir memories while making new ones in shared conversations with others. While Sylvester's vocal intensity could never be denied nor duplicated, your mix giving his vocals spacial air to reveal it on an intimate almost "come closer, I need to tell you something" level that while still present in the disco mixes, got challenged and met, instead in the intensity of the rest of instrumentation as if ferocity could only be represented as something loud. This mix shows Sylvester knew well the power of his voice above a whisper however below conversation level. Thank you for this timely release, the Castro in San Francisco, this PRIDE 2019, continues to miss the original voice and presence of the original Sylvester.

From David A.Wood: Although I am not a member of the deservedly appreciated LGBTQ+ Community, I must proudly say that I really love the signature song by the late Recording Artist/Gay Icon Sylvester anyway. Sylvester's signature song, "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" was/is an emotionally soaring and sonically seductive song of Authentic Love, Spiritual/Sexual Pleasure, and Urbanized Style that I could not get enough of hearing back in 1978, and I still very much like hearing it! I gladly remember hearing "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" by Sylvester from back in the Summer of 1978 when I was an intellectually imaginative,14-years-old teenager on my way to becoming a High School Freshman. It still is one of my top "Fantasy Soundtrack Songs." I must say that it was a pity that the song initially did not receive much airplay on WDAO, which was Dayton's premier R&B Radio Station, as the gloriously performed song just kind of came and went during the Summer of 1978. It was also a pity that the dreaded illness of AIDS lethally took Sylvester away from us back in the late 1980s. As such, I am glad to be hearing and seeing Sylvester's legendary song finally get the notice it truly deserves as it is occasionally played on KZbin. Thank you very much, KZbin. Thank you very much too, Sylvester and, assuming such a honored place truly exists, I sincerely hope that you are spiritually thriving in the Afterlife. RIP, Sylvester!
