I saw this show at the Beacon theatre in NYC. I had no idea what I was in for - I just went to see Fripp. I was blown away and mesmerized from the first few notes. I wish I could go back and experience it again with my much greater knowledge of all the talent that was on the stage that night. The Damage album that came out of that tour is exceptional.

I also saw them at the Beacon Theatre. It was hands down the best rock concert I had ever attended. I seem to remember Sylvian opening solo on keys with "The first day". Then they brought out the heavy artillery. David was basically fronting for King Krimson from then on. Fortunately for all of us the shows were heavily documented...
@worldnotworld Жыл бұрын
@@kpnconsulting8739 Yes, this band was in a sense a King Crimson projeKct, much more so than the Fripp/Collins'Jakszyk work.

Frank's Wild Years Well Frank settled down in the Valley and he hung his wild years on a nail that he drove through his wife's forehead he sold used office furniture out there on San Fernando Road and assumed a $30,000 loan at 15 _ % and put a down payment on a little two bedroom place his wife was a spent piece of used jet trash made good bloody marys kept her mouth shut most of the time had a little Chihuahua named Carlos that had some kind of skin disease and was totally blind. They had a thoroughly modern kitchen self-cleaning oven (the whole bit) Frank drove a little sedan they were so happy One night Frank was on his way home from work, stopped at the liquor store, picked up a couple Mickey's Big Mouths drank 'em in the car on his way to the Shell station, he got a gallon of gas in a can, drove home, doused everything in the house, torched it, parked across the street, laughing watching it burn, all Halloween orange and chimney red then Frank put on a top forty station got on the Hollywood Freeway headed North Never could stand that dog

@@RaymondPeckIII Sylvian spoke of his admiration for Tom Waits around the time of Secrets of the beehive/Frank's wild years. Have a listen to Midnight sun, from Dead bees on a cake (which just happens to feature Marc Ribot on guitar) to hear just how much he liked him!

This song has somehow weaved itself into my bloodstream! The first time I listened to it on Rain Tree Crow, it literally reached out and held me captive. Can't explain it...I just have no words. By the way, the talent on stage here is nothing short of astounding. Even though I was hoping Steve Jansen was on percussion. Enjoyed it nonetheless!!!

@@Robocrap Agreed, he grew up and matured into a superb artist. But trust me, growing up as a teenager with Japan was truly remarkable. I loved them all collectively as Japan (as well as Rain Tree Crow) and as solo artists. Sylvian was always my favourite, though.

David Sylvian do not match with the spirit and sound of King Crimson in any single way. This combination come out indredible well but as the project, it give his music a right tune, I can't immagine his melanchoic and melodic voice sing the Krimson's songs? They would not be King Crimson anymore.
