I would say three geniuses. Michael Brook on the guitar is an amazing musician in his own right. Check out his stellar masterpeice, Cobalt Blue.

I saw this show at the Beacon theatre in NYC. I had no idea what I was in for - I just went to see Fripp. I was blown away and mesmerized from the first few notes. I wish I could go back and experience it again with my much greater knowledge of all the talent that was on the stage that night. The Damage album that came out of that tour is exceptional.

I also saw them at the Beacon Theatre. It was hands down the best rock concert I had ever attended. I seem to remember Sylvian opening solo on keys with "The first day". Then they brought out the heavy artillery. David was basically fronting for King Krimson from then on. Fortunately for all of us the shows were heavily documented...
@worldnotworld9 ай бұрын
@@kpnconsulting8739 Yes, this band was in a sense a King Crimson projeKct, much more so than the Fripp/Collins'Jakszyk work.

Awesome track, Sylvian remains true to his principals of music & poetry, thankfully for those who have discovered his incredible talent and saves us from the majority of the banal sounds we're faced with daily.

This song has somehow weaved itself into my bloodstream! The first time I listened to it on Rain Tree Crow, it literally reached out and held me captive. Can't explain it...I just have no words. By the way, the talent on stage here is nothing short of astounding. Even though I was hoping Steve Jansen was on percussion. Enjoyed it nonetheless!!!

you could say, all the musicians were at their best here - but the song and time makes it. superb song brilliantly performed. This is a classic.

"Family man - his patience tried- took a torch to his home and warmed his hands by the fire..." This line haunts me every time I hear it. Sylvian is just so horribly overlooked.

Frank's Wild Years Well Frank settled down in the Valley and he hung his wild years on a nail that he drove through his wife's forehead he sold used office furniture out there on San Fernando Road and assumed a $30,000 loan at 15 _ % and put a down payment on a little two bedroom place his wife was a spent piece of used jet trash made good bloody marys kept her mouth shut most of the time had a little Chihuahua named Carlos that had some kind of skin disease and was totally blind. They had a thoroughly modern kitchen self-cleaning oven (the whole bit) Frank drove a little sedan they were so happy One night Frank was on his way home from work, stopped at the liquor store, picked up a couple Mickey's Big Mouths drank 'em in the car on his way to the Shell station, he got a gallon of gas in a can, drove home, doused everything in the house, torched it, parked across the street, laughing watching it burn, all Halloween orange and chimney red then Frank put on a top forty station got on the Hollywood Freeway headed North Never could stand that dog

@@RaymondPeckIII Sylvian spoke of his admiration for Tom Waits around the time of Secrets of the beehive/Frank's wild years. Have a listen to Midnight sun, from Dead bees on a cake (which just happens to feature Marc Ribot on guitar) to hear just how much he liked him!

Le pouvoir expressif de l'architecture sonore rompt avec toute forme de transcription du réel pour s'attacher à l'expression d'un univers explosif. Les couleurs et le rythme de ces compositions sont un langage qui donne vie à l'exaltation

David sylvian as singer of king crimson was always a silent wish off me and i do like some songs but i have to say in my thougts i suspected so much more about this collaboration
@pandora_box012 жыл бұрын
David Sylvian do not match with the spirit and sound of King Crimson in any single way. This combination come out indredible well but as the project, it give his music a right tune, I can't immagine his melanchoic and melodic voice sing the Krimson's songs? They would not be King Crimson anymore.

When Japan split up it was tragic to live through. But what masterpieces followed by them all in the first few years were phenomenal.

Discovered David Sylvian after Japan. His solo stuff is much better in my opinion.
@modestyblaise4167 Жыл бұрын
@@Robocrap Agreed, he grew up and matured into a superb artist. But trust me, growing up as a teenager with Japan was truly remarkable. I loved them all collectively as Japan (as well as Rain Tree Crow) and as solo artists. Sylvian was always my favourite, though.

Ayer por la mañana, mientras estaba trabajando, escuché este concierto y disfruté particularmente esta canción. Anoche tuve un sueño, muy intenso y a la vez muy triste. Y de alguna manera Every colour you are volvía a sonar... Yesterday morning, while I was working, I listened to this concert and I particularly enjoyed this song. Last night I had a dream, very intense and at the same time very sad. And somehow Every color you are sounded again ...

This song was on the Rain Tree Crow Album. Fantastic. I remember buying it on c.d. somewhere around '95 or '96 at Sound Warehouse down the street. Robert Fripp and David Sylvian are both living legends who are both vastly under-credited for what they have achieved.
