This conflicts with the other fighter's opinion that you shouldn't do the rocking chair when you knee... open for strikes and hard to defend when you miscalculate and are leaning back so far. Is this just how it is or that it benefits dieselnoi so much more since he has the reach to do this without any immediate danger?

Ohhhh what I've learned recently, after you get how to execute all the techniques of how to strike (which I understand now should be developed until 2nd nature)... with keeping in mind that the most power is at the end of the strike, for example full extension of a punch, the thing one should really think about is range... with that said even something as short as a Knee has it's own range for optimal connection and impact. Cant believe I never thought of that. I feel like I've come to the greatest understanding of my punches that I ever have before. As I learn kicks I realize if i thought about my kicks the same as i though about my punches it would help. I then concluded the following: Shoulders, or even better mid pec, are equivalent to the hips... and if you think about it this way the saying shoot from the hips makes a lot of sense. Kees are the elbow Shin are the knuckles Now in regards to relating knee strikes to punches... I guess that portion of the knee you pointed out becomes the new knuckle... however I'm sure shooting from the hips holds true... I should note that I discovered when trying to hit a target I dont try to hit the target with my knuckles, shins (or now I'll apply this to knees too) I first try to align my hips to the mid line of the target. The contact with the appropriate body part knuckle and shin will have to be an automatic consequence.

Timing is by far more important than range, you'll get that with more experience. It's not like becoming #1 at Tekken:)

I feel like dieselnoi like counter rotates the opposite way when he knees? But also think he could generate massive power anyway he wanted with a knee just because of leverage and his natural build
@Lorendrawn4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sylvie. The way your video talks about the knee, it feels like the pendulum motion and the planted leg and hip behave reminds me of how someone does a kettlebell swing. Maybe the proper knee is akin to a kettlebell swinging motion, complete with tucked chin but exaggerating the hip extension a little more?

Your life stops having meaning unless you reproduce? 🤔 Why would she become alone, she doesn't have one now that I can see so why isnt she all alone? Do all family members and close ones disappear if you go through meno/andropaus without spawning? :O Your comment and the thinking that created it is what's meaningless. Not to mention purely subjective, assumptious and untrue. Damn, if you feel your life is meaningless in itself without other people to define yourself you must have been lonely aloot. 😢 Breaks my heart.. *pats danvils head* Shhhh therethere, It's okay I'm here now. Your life has regained meaning. Tsk. You know we've evolved since being monkeys right?

Very useful point. Tricky to understand, but makes sense why it would be more powerful in a physics sense. Minor question though, I'm sure landing "under the knee" as you put it in this video is more in regards to the long-range straight knees? Did he have similar points to make inside the clinch with round or curved knees? It's hard to imagine landing under the knee when the knee is coming from the outside lol

Think of a parabola, a pendulum, rather than very stabby (forward and back) or very marchy (straight up and down).

Thanks Sylvie. Your vlog makes me review my techniques and understood the right context for each technique. May I make a suggestion, though? The camera frame is too tight so when you demonstrate a knee or kicking technique, only the upper part of your body is seen as you’re explaining. More power!

i Like to do 2 variations of knees similar to this. The pendulum movement - i realized this technique one day messing about. And one that starts as a pendulum motion and then and the top of the swing - i shoot my hip and knee straight foward - landing with the bottom bone under the knee cap. I feel like its not as powerful but it creats a massive punch/push effect. Never actually tried it on anyone as im not a fighter and wont try it in sparring. but I like to think of a cobra when trying to land the knee on a heavy bag. I find pretending im a certain animal with certain strikes useful to drill the motion/movements

Yeah, all knees require the hip. But it's a pendulum swinging forward and up, not stabbing and down like 2 motions.
