An informal introduction to Grammar
Grammar lessons are necessary for young children to read with appreciation. It helps the children to become aware of words and to read with full comprehension. A colour has been chosen for each part of speech and the children come to understand the function of parts of speech.
Symbolic Grammar - Extension
* Prepare the labels for the story (DIY)
* This is a nonfiction short story to include all the parts of the speech.
Age: 6 & onwards
Objective:
* The child will be able to symbolize phrases, sentences, and paragraphs of all the parts of speech in composition.
* The child can write the story, draw and colour the symbols on his/her creative story writing book.
* The child can draw story-related pictures in his/her story writing book.
Encourage creative writing:
* Keep your child’s environment with words, poems, and stories (nonfiction).
* To encourage creative writing let the child write his/her own story.
* Encourage every child to keep a journal.
* They can write in their journal daily, and write the date at the top of each entry.
* Parents/Teachers can regularly read their journals and give positive comments.
* You do not need to be overly concerned with correcting their spelling or grammar because the focus should be on creative writing.
* At a later date, you can present a spelling list for them without interfering with their creative process.

Age: 4.6 & onwards
Important Note:
* The child needs basic Grammar Lessons during the sensitive period for language.
* The child should be mastered in each lesson to use symbolic colour for each part of speech.
* Basic grammar lessons will be given by Casa Directress while the child is in the Casa program.
* They introduce oral grammar games, initial grammar lessons, and the function of parts of speech.
* Grammar lessons are given individually to the child and oral grammar games are given as a group lesson.
Note: Lesson should be shown to the child slowly & gracefully.
