This is one of the most underrated artists of a lifetime. I am almost offended that this man doesn't get more recognition. Not that it bothers me, gems like this - I'd rather have this for myself than it being mainstream music. This is art. This is love. This.... is pure emotion. Thank you so much for your music. LYRICS 🎼 Here stands a man At the bottom of a hole he's made Still sweating from the rush His body tense His hands, they shake Oh this, this is a mad boy Don't you ever leave me alone My war is over Be my shelter from the storm My war is over I am a sad boy Here stands a man With a bullet in his clenched right hand But don't push him, son For he's got the power to crush this land Oh hear, hear him cry, boy Don't you ever leave me alone Be my shelter from the storm My war is over I am a sad boy

Had my hands in slow running warm water when this song began to play on Spotify radio. I've never heard of SYML or this song before. I closed my eyes and could feel his voice and words go through every fiber of me as I just stood there. I have never become lost in a song to this magnitude nor felt a soft melody gently touch my soul. After the song was over, I opened my eyes and saw my hands clasped together, just as they were when my Mother would stand behind me as a child, to help me wash my hands! Streams of hot burning tears rolled down my cheeks as I felt her love come through from the other side, telling me she's still with me and loves me. There are simply no words to describe how beautiful & amazing this song truly is, only feelings, thoughts, memories & emotions!.... 🕊🕊🕊

The perfect place for this song. I don't know what Brian intended with it initially, but for me it's about surrendering. Being hopeless and tired after fighting and trying to be powerful. And admitting that you're human and weak. Admitting that you're just a lost child and asking God to be your shelter, to stand by you and protect you. And finally finding peace in that surrender 🙏
