Adrianofcon when she first came out, she was just meh. And when they buffed her the first time they gave her some really nice upgrades. Her moving shield has saved me from many of DVA ults, and the 6 turrets were perfect. Then everything changed when the nerfs attacked. I still play her, and she’s my main on dp, but damn if they haven’t ruined her ult and cut her power in half. They even messed up her teleporter.

I remember one time, back when Mercy's Valk instantly reset her Rez, I killed a torb as a sym who had walked into my turret trap. Mercy walked right up to the body, but not close enough to notice the turrets, rezzed him in the middle of my turret trap, and walked off. I proceeded to melt the torb again. Mercy ulted, rezzed torb in the turret trap again, flew off before the turrets could kill her, and left the poor torb to get melted down for the third time in 15 seconds... I got PotG for that...

To anyone saying this video doesn't make sense anymore or anything among those lines: Symmetra gets a "level up" at the end that shows her new ult. Meaning, it's acknowledged that she doesn't use those methods anymore and got a rework. Also on a more personal note: I like the rework partly, however, I miss the mini shields and being able to lift up player corpses and other things.

This was so amazingly-animated! And hilarious too; i kept replaying almost every shot, they’re all gold! I laughed out loud at Dva ejecting off the ledge, and loved how doting Ana is with Pharah. Yup, Symms(the few of us there were back then) used to do it with 2.0s old photon barrier too. It was a shield with a shit ton of health that moved in a straight line. We'd just summon it in front of Ulting Pharahs and watch it kill her lol. It still happens now with the "new" version of Photon Barrier, just not as often as it did when it was a regualr ability on cooldown

Well the turrets went down in one shot, the barrier is pretty much only good for an attack or 2, & the teleporter while more useful since one end is placed at spawn could only be used 6 times. And some Sym's would put it in locations where it would cause people to fall to their deaths so you'd never know if you were going to die until after someone went through Sym's beam locking on was definitely better though.

The good old Sym 2.0... I miss her so much. Porting turrets behind Ana and Zen might be fun but it's not Lock-On and Phorton Barrier... And now I get reported EVERY match. Either for abusing bugs, for not abusing bugs or just cause I played Sym. Fun Fact: After she was ruined I tried to become a Torb main and I didn't get reported at all. (30 games)

1947 hours Symmetra main. Since she was a support hero. Got to play with every single kit change from individual shields, to the shield pane that floated forward, to her shield generator, teleporter that stayed open, the one that connected to spawn, when she had 6 turrets, a photo projector that latched onto enemies, secondary fire that penetrated barriers and people and just plowed through teams (id go right up to Rein and fire and it'll kill him and anytime behind him, etc. She gets so much hate even tho if you even read her lore she's an exceptionally powerful spy that creates entire cities and uses her powers to infiltrate enemy locations, building light bridges, portals, and encasing barriers making her literally a kind of mortal goddess. Altho Knowing she has Asperger's and then seeing the changes they gave her aesthetically for overwatch 2 I didn't like. Her helmet was changed into a white seashell type headdress with the wings pointing inward instead of outward and that provides no shielding for the head (it's ugly), and they made her hair layered and messy when she would have it one length and comed. I like the details in her non glove hand and the bodysuit is cool but that's it with her aesthetics

I was hesitant with the changes when I first heard, but they support her character arc so well and I adore it. Her obsession with imperfection and trying to "fix" everything, to understanding that change and chaos is an innate part of life. OW2 Sym is like the personification of "putting your hair down." Also, I love that you know so much about her powers in-lore! Photon manipulation is nothing to scoff at, and it opens up so many possibilities for her in-lore as well.. gives me Atom Eve vibes. Also, I read somewhere that her ability to manipulate light comes from a gene that she has! I don't remember where I read that, though 🤔

@@lyle60023 really? I don't remember reading about the gene thing. She was among a group of selected architects like Lifeweaver but she was the only one who manifested her constructs through dancing. That was always her particular ability at least I thought. Also I noticed in game she says "a vishkar architect always completes her task to perfection". Then after a death and respawn says "perfection was not the point". Confused me at first but in this context it actually looks like shes developing in real time during the match.

@rampagingshark I wish I could find where.. I believe it was in a comic. It was how Vishkar noticed her; through genetic research, they found people who held the potential to manipulate light. It was a big impact on her, as she grew up in the slums of India and in extreme poverty. Almost like Vishkar was "saving" her.
