Actually, Anne Rice's vampires are ALL "in love" with each others. That's because of a superior sensibility that trascends human state. They're not "omosexuals", cause "sex" has not more sense for them (taking pleasure from blood) but they feel a sort of adoration for the beauty of bodies and souls.

the song is giving an example of how the devil convinces people to believe him.Have you ever heard the phrase "The prince of darkness is a gentleman" ? that means the devil shows himself to us in an appealing form. It's actually sarcastic to call it" Sympathy for the devil" The entire song acknowledges the evil deeds which the devil convinced people to do! The song isn't sympathetic to the devil. I's just the opposite.
