The tam-tam strike at 4:53 gives me goosebumps every time. I much prefer when this piece is performed with a deep and resonant tam-tam as opposed to one that is high pitched and not as resonant.

I performed this in Singapore two years ago. Mahler actually designed a gigantic drum for that exact part.

@@renzo6490 Here you go: Symphony No. 8 in E-Flat-Major, "Symphony of a thousand": Part II, Final Scene from Faust: Alles Vergängliche ist nur ein Gleichnis Obviously its by Gustav Mahler. The musicians are Barbara Haveman and the Cologne Gurzenich Orchestra, along with several other artists and choirs from Bonn and Cologne. The conductor is Markus Stenz. Hope this helps!
