I'm signing the song looking at the lyrics. I'm long time Megadeth fan !!! 👍 I'm 52 yrs old. Megadeth never gets old. Older ppl and younger generation listen to Megadeth and it's amazing!!! One day in the early 2000s I attended Megadeth concert in a convention center in Albuquerque NM I was standing in the front row of probably a crowd of 150 fans I had opportunity to see Dave Mustang up close. Close enough to be spit on lol. His guitarist bent down really low I touch the guitar strings for a second. I remember Megadeths song Crush Em. The speakers were so loud I had to put klinnex in my ears. 😂🤘 I had a blast. Then the Megadeth hosted Megator for upcoming heavy metal groups like Five Finger Death Punch, Avenge Sevenfold, Static-X. Growing up in the 80s was awesome 👍 heavy metal music back then was awesome, so many metal bands came and went... But Megadeth Survived all these years. Megadeth songs are political but it sure makes Alot of sense, like Peace Sells or Holy War.

I'm a casual fan of Megadeath, big fan of the genre and grew up in the 80s. I say that to give context that I'm not some fanboy here, but this song is perfection, it's S tier for sure. It has it all, but most importantly it has incredible lyrics that have meaning that transcend time and always seem to apply to the current time. This is true art and I friggin love it!!!!! I often repeat the opening verse 5 times before I let the song play out that's how important I think it is to always remember that power corrupts. "Take a mortal man and put him in control and watch him become a god, watch people's heads a'roll....". And then that chorus, what else can you say, it sums up humanity's albatross; this innate desire to set up governments and systems of power when we clearly know it ultimately corrupts and breaks down at scale. Anyway imma hop off my soapbox listen to that verse a cpl more times lol. Oh, I do wanna say the last verse I like to interpret as when the world powers fall we will see that peace will rise and stand tall in the form of the individual man and his freedom. See society's construct demand we fear each other and that we need protection from each other in the form of nations and armies, but this just escalates the arms race and repeats cycles of large scale war and peace that most of the population really even have a hand in other than suffer it's consequences. If when the world powers fall the illusion it created that made us fear each other will fall and we see that the default state of the individual when free is peaceful and there is no need to organize in order to protect.

It should be known that this song is not a pessimistic view, nor a negative or nihilistic view. It is an admission of the type of society and world we have, and exactly what creates this sort of world. The false belief that the few need to control the many in order to prevent disorder and chaos, is exactly the mechanism by which all disorder and chaos has ever been created in known history. Yes, there should be rules and social contracts, but not slave master tyrants who profess to represent or rule us, whose every edict and whim we blindly obey as "law" as if these people are gods among men. The key to the rule of these tyrants, is the false belief that the individual is incapable of governing their own affairs or peacefully co-existing. That this line of thinking is utopian fantasy. Though it is true that most people today are likely incapable of responsible self governance, it is not some default human condition that brought this upon humanity. It is the learned helplessness and collective stockholm syndrome that has been created by the worship of and blind obedience to a parasitic ruling class. Freedom, liberty and security does require growing the fuck up, no doubt about it. However, the continuance of tyranny no matter how sweetly virtue signaled a velvet glove fits over an iron fist, will never ever lead to a sustainable, rational, sane society. Those who would sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither and will lose both.

@@bradenpetty3828 US politics fits though. Two party system is basically authoritarian in lots of ways. Even if you get rogue outsider inside Democrat/Republican voting system, you still belong to the Democrat or Republican party system of establishment. So the Pied Piper lead the rats through the streets. And thats how the chaotic force of people live like in the country, gaslighting is more or less what they label as facts in US politics. Just bully the opposition and there you go.

This song gives me bad flashbacks because this song was on guitar hero warriors of rock, and I played it so much that I started to have hallucinations, and this song would play and it scared the shit out of me. I was 3 btw, idk why I shared this but I did😂
