So happy I found this video with Sarah Scott. I'm experiencing this same speech difficulty, it's eerie how Sarah and I speak so similarly. This video is something I can share with others! Best wishes to Sarah!

You said toward the end of this video that its silly or may seem silly ... it is not silly at all ... It works on so many levels. 1. It helps you (and the like) to practice your speech. 2. It shows others with the same that they are not alone. 3. Helps people to understand your struggle and in time how ever day people can help. As for relationships... you are are a beautiful young lady and I would say that any guy that dates you would be so lucky to have you. You are truly the embodiment of hope to others. xx

Sarah, thank you so much for the inspiration. My 18-year old son had stroke after hard covid. It was a miracle he survived. He has very much similar aphasia to you in your 18. Just one month passed and I do my best to support him. He is a student, a brilliant programmer, i am so afraid we have this in past (( Your progress inspires me. Thank you.

Sarah, you continue to be my little hero. It's been two years since my own stroke. I have recovered most of my speech but like you, I still search for words now and then. You've made great progress. God bless you from your American fan, Joe

Hi Sarah, Each semester when I teach about speech disorders I show your videos. Students generally think this is the kind of thing that only happens to other people. When you come on the screen, you can hear a pin drop as they realize that something they take for granted, speaking fluently, is actually quite a miracle. Thank you for sharing your struggles with us and keep up your hard work, we can see it paying off!

Hi Sarah I hadn't heard your story before today when I was matched with your profile on a dating website, where you explain your condition and suggest that anyone who doesn't know what aphasia is should look for your videos. I watched your first video and this one and it really was touching to hear your story and see the progress you've made. Well done on the fundraising and I wish you all the best with your biology career as well. That is something I'm very interested in as well and was fortunate to be able to get a degree in the subject. Most of all though best of luck with your continuing recovery. Take care beautiful and courageous girl :-) x

Hi Sarah, I have watched all of your videos and they are very nice. I had a stroke January 28, 2010, Actually that was my second one, my first was January 28, 2008. What are the odds? Well I had two heart attacks too. Just like you, they found a 3/4" (2mm) hole in my heart (PFO). They wouldn't seal the hole until you had two strokes because it was so dangerous. June 19, 2011 they sealed it. I had full blown aphasia at that time, but I much better now. Of course I still have problems with my speech and to comprehend. I was married 3 month before the stroke, and my ex-wife left a year later. So Sarah I'm single! Your smile just melts my heart. I live in Florida USA, and I know you are in the UK. If we could Skype that would be awesome. It may be a connection meant to be.....I'm looking forward to see the next one

I came across your first video just yesterday and as part of a discussion group that I am involved with my physiology class. I started to watch the video and immediately stopped because I wasn't prepared to learn about aphasia in such a human and personal way. My physiology book did a very poor job at describing what aphasia is and what it is not. There was no indication of treatment for aphasia, so I immediately started doing research on the internet to find out more about it. Then I had the bright idea to look of Sarah Scott on KZbin and was so excited to find this update. I was so happy to see how well you are doing and the improvements that you have made this far. I am going to include you in my prayers for your continued recovery, and I am so happy that you are now in a relationship. You are beautiful, inspiring, and such a great advocate for others with aphasia, or other disability, and for us all! Thank you for sharing your story. I am posting your link to this video on my paper so that my peers can see for themselves how you are doing today.

Putting your video is a great idea so that we can follow, I haven't thought about doing mine. But I think her great pace of recovery is due to Sarah's strength plus her mom and family's great support coupled with all the events happening around her. Aphasia is a trauma to the brain and to re-establish its plasticity you need a lot of rehabilitation, Sarah's got the best environment and moving on in spite of what happened. My biggest respect to all of you, and thank you especially, Sarah!

Hi Sarah. I had my first stroke 5.5 years ago. I was 49 years old had that time. I had global aphasia which means I didn't speak or understand what other people when they were talking to me. After a year from that I was able to speak but my vocabulary was limited. My speech therapist was important for me for 2 years after I had my stroke. Then she moved on to be a mom because she had just born a little daughter.

Thank you for your encouraging video. I'm really impressed with your progress. You had aphasia due to a stroke, and I had mine due to a traffic accident, at about the same period of time, but it seems like we share so many commonalities, the most difficult things are counting the numbers, remembering specific names and speed of speech. But I am so surprised that you are recovering so fast now you are far ahead of me. You're my inspiration, please keep it up, I admire you, Sarah!

Just looking at the comments on this video I can see that your videos mean a great deal to others who are dealing with similar situations. I think it's very brave and great of you to post these videos. They are not just very helpful for other people with similar situations but also for psychologists and mostly psychology students so they can have a better understanding of aphasia and it will help them to become good psychologists able to help others properly. Thanks for that!

Hey sarah, your story is really inspiring, i study neuroscience so i have an understanding of whats going on as the brain is reforming neural connections i had a strokelike experience myself where i had to relearn things but luckily i recovered quickly. I know how difficult it is you can almost see the thousands of neural connections that need to be re associated and its very overwhelming. It is very foreign territory to be thrown into for both you and your family i wish you all the best!

You're inspiring. I think we all have our own aphasia story and everyone is different. For me, I had a brain tumor removed in May 2007. No problems before after. But 3 years later, summer 2010, started having problems, not sure why. I can read easy just lots of re-reading sentences sometimes, but speech and writing/typing is harder. Mine aphasia seems to come in "waves" worse when I'm stressed or worse when I am frustrated, especially with myself talking. Thanks for sharing your story! oxo
