From now on, I will be replacing my VVT solenoid every time I get a check engine and rough idling lol.

My 2jz engine has been running roughly at idle since a while with the same symptoms and I did everything from replacement to cleaning and paid a lot of money but never got the real issue. Now about 1 hour ago, I did ECU scanner and issue appear with this sensor and yes I'm here now knowing my issue. Thank you for the video and don't waste your time and money fixing everything, just do ECU scanner first, it's about 10$ in my country and sorry for my bad English 😂

@@aidenthe420 No and my mechanic couldn’t either, and he’s a certified mechanic - supervisor at a local mechanic shop . But I think it was the vvt solenoids. I watched a few videos that had the same symptoms and the cure was vvt solenoids.

If I change both intake & exhaust camshaft sensor but still get a check engine light, does it’s mean I need to change my vvt solenoid? And how many do I get ?

A check engine light is triggered by various sensors associated with the car I'd first recommend you visit a qualified mechanic and diagonise the fault code that triggered the check engine light before taking any action

if a vvt is bad can it cause a no start? i have a code and my car trys to turn over but nothing. I took it out to test and it dident click or clicked super fast, wondering if wiring on the inside of it is busted. its from a 2007 mazda 6.

Generally, VVT issues wouldn't directly prevent a vehicle from starting. typically, starting problems are more likely related to other engine components like the battery, starter motor, fuel system, or ignition system.

Hi ! I have checked everything. I have a good idling, but I have jerks when applying the accelerator pedal on the road. My last solution is this solenoid valve. I only have one on the intake manifold. I have on engine warning light. Do you think these jerks could come from this valve ? Thanks for your kind answer ! Regards.

I have jerking when accelerating. Replacing the spark plugs solved it.

@@arturojaimes8021 (308 1.6 156 THP) Hi, Thanks for your clues. I have bought this car second hand one month ago because in France to get rid of the pollution, you need a #1 sticker on your windshield. This car it. However I have discovered that it has a shitting engine. I knew it had jerks when I drove it. I thought it was nothing . I have changed all the sparks, all the electrical rods. I have the timing chain redone, changed the chain tenser, changed the oil in the high pressure pump. I have changed the solenoid. The mecanic told me it might be a valve issue. So I want now to test the cylinder compression, but I doubt it is a valve issue as it has passed the mot. Results are 0.18 for idle, the same for the accelerated idle, and 1.005 for the lambda value. Could someone tell me if these values match a valve issue ? Engine starts normally. Idle is normal. It's just that when I press the accelerator pedal I have air gaps = jerks. So now I am going to try clean the injectors via the rear pump. Someone told me they could be dirty... I know some mini and bmw have the same engine and the same problem... All the best to all ! 😉

Hello guys! Welcome to another interesting series of my episodes. Today we are going to be looking at the symptoms of a bad VVTI solenoid, and when to replace it. The main function of the VVTI solenoid is to increase or decrease the clearance of the valves through the camshaft depending on the engine running conditions. A bad VVTI solenoid has four main symptoms, which we're going to discuss in the video. So make sure you stay with us up to the end. The first and obvious symptom of a bad VVTI solenoid is the 'check engine' light on the dashboard. When your VVTI solenoid isn't working properly, the ECU will initiate a signal which will trigger the 'check engine' light on the dashboard. Once you see this light on your dashboard - do not ignore it, and make it a priority to go and visit a qualified mechanic™ to diagnose® the problem. The second symptom of a bad VVTI solenoid is the engine running rough while idling. *engine running rough whilst idling* Typically, the VVTI system does not act until the engine is at a higher RPM, or is introduced into a load-bearing situation. Introduction of oil into the VVTI system while the engine is idling, may cause it to idle roughly. (See above) This causes wear & tear of your engine, hence reducing its lifespan. The third symptom of a bad VVTI is decrease of fuel econom(sic). The main function of the VVTI is to make the valve open and close at the _right_ time. This increases performance and decreases the rate of oil consumption. A bad VVTI solenoid makes the valves to open and close at the _wrong_ time. Hence, it [is] increasing ?the oil? consumption of a car. The last factor that may make a VVTI not function properly is... dirty engine oil. "???" everything and maintenance may make the engine oil contaminated. The contaminated engine oil may make the VVTI solenoid to function improperly. Hence, decreasing the efficiency of your engine.
