I don't think minion blocking is worse, just more noticeable. There's a lot more passive move speed this season, which makes any hiccup feel annoying. There's also frostfire and warmog's, both of which increase size make pathing more difficult.

Just a regular healing without any form of healing debuff which is impossible to avoid in teamfights if by any chance you could get goredrinker off on 4 people... He healed about 2000 now, with a 60% healing debuff that's about 800. Good luck surviving a teamfight with that.
