Hi BBS… glad I came across your channel. I’ve been composing songs and making weird sounds on synths for decades… but never knew there was a way I could possibly make a little money doing it. Thanks for some “food for thought,” … greatly appreciated!

No problem. Those "weird sounds" can be used in video games. There are so many indie game companies who need music and SFX for their games.

Great video 👏🏾 Quick question, when you paid to get your music licensed, were you paying the agencies to pitch your music to projects?
@beatbuildersstudio
@beatbuildersstudio 4 ай бұрын
Yes. So I paid by the track. At the time it was $20 a track. They would submit my music for projects. I didn't get much from it. I got into all of my music production for free once I discovered you don't necessarily need to pay to get your music pitched.

I would like to submit music. Taking it step by step with the PRO ascap do I need to have both writing and publishing registers when I sign up to get accepted in a music library or is the music library the publisher? Looking forward to your response.

So if u use a beat from KZbin to record on in a studio without leasing it from the producer can u still submit it & own rights to ur vocal with the producer get the back in?
@beatbuildersstudio
@beatbuildersstudio Жыл бұрын
The producer will only get backend royalties if you submit their PRO information to the music publisher. You have to state that the producer is a writer of the track. But you should be leasing the beat from the producer.

This is a great video! Are there websites where I can send it in without any fee? I just want to hear my music in shows. I don't really care about profits. But I also don't want to pay any upfront fees.
@beatbuildersstudio

There are a ton of music production companies who don't charge a fee. Just search music production libraries.

@@YungGenesisgo to a sync agency they are made for artists who want thier music synced but they take a portion of what they place

@@YungGenesis The only thing that comes close to this is a sort of middleman-library called "That Pitch". I think I'll subscribe to that once i have enough cues under my belt.

What type of equipment do i need to create sync music with? I have a mpc live 2. I dont know where to start!
@beatbuildersstudio
@beatbuildersstudio Жыл бұрын
You can create sync music with that. I haven't used it but from reading online it seems like it comes with built in sounds. Is that correct? The only thing to watch out for is sample based production. I know most people who use MPC's sample records. That's a big No-No for sync licensing because sampling records requires sample clearance from the original owners of the master record.
@thegreat1548

@@beatbuildersstudioyes the mpc live 2 comes with built in sounds and plug-ins I guess I can download a sync software in there to start with, i wanted to feel the actual sync box/instrument in hand 😂 I got the mpc to make beats but the making industry is over saturated. Maybe sync is to I don't know.

@beatbuildersstudio
@beatbuildersstudio Жыл бұрын
IMO not really. I mean you get a sense of what kind of opportunities exist and how to make music for that particular brief. Plus it cost for every time you want to submit in addition to the yearly fee. But don't let my opinion stop you from trying. Looking back, when I used the service my music wasn't that good. Now that my music is 10x better and I actually have placements. I could go back and maybe be more successful. You will never know until you try.

What do you mean? I talk about what I do. I make music for television. I didn't read some info. I been doing sync licensing for over five years and have placements on tv shows. I'm in several libraries. Have you had your music in a super bowl commercial? I have. If you check my other videos I outline what I do and my process. Since you know what I should do. What type of video do you suggest I make?
@thatsjssounds
@thatsjssounds Жыл бұрын
@@beatbuildersstudio Exactly what I said. No where in this video do you talk about what to do. You’re just spewing off useless generic info. Look at your own time stamps for the video…there’s nothing actionable there whatsoever.

Your right bro. I'll take your advice because you make tons of money from sync licensing . Like I said I have plenty of video that give actionable advice. I even show where my beats have been placed and exactly how much I made. I even have a resource guide in the description where you can submit music and how to register for a PRO. But again you're mad because you got do a little work. Good luck selling beats.

@@beatbuildersstudio I know I’m right. Your sarcasm doesn’t change what I said. I’m referring to THIS video. And thanks, but selling beats doesn’t require luck.

There is enough information here, for a person to get on the path to enlightenment, so you need to do your own research to get a result if that is what you really want to do.
