Synched gears interlock at 4,500 rpm on a state of the art servo system (www.diginfo.tv/...) 30/9/2013 CEATEC JAPAN 2013 Mitsubishi Electric High Energy Saving Servo Systems Technology DigInfo TV - www.diginfo.tv

The point is just to demonstrate how well these motors movements can be synchronized.
@hardpulse11 жыл бұрын
4500 rotations per minute is 75 rotations per second. The fact they can fit perfectly at that speed at any given time requires immense precision.
@bigred298911 жыл бұрын
I can picture tech like this in something that transforms.
@truebluekit11 жыл бұрын
Holy crap, that precision was beautiful!
@StatikDynamikDubstep11 жыл бұрын
I believe this is more about the precision of the servos. The gears are just there for demonstration purposes, because they would need exact precision to function properly at such high rpms. I don't get why your comment got downvoted. You were right and you were just asking a question. KZbin is stupid.

Very impressive! Good work and research!

Well, it's technologies like this that can transform what we think of Electric cars, and even Petrol/Diesal/LPG cars.

German precision suddenly becomes Japanese precision. Wow, just wow.
@TobyCatlin11 жыл бұрын
The gears are not transferring any energy. It is a demonstration of accuracy, as any slippage in the synchronisation of the motors would cause the gears to crash. At this speed it is clear they are very accurate and maintain perfect sync.

See as entire factories have robots cranking out amazing cars, this doesnt surprise me.

They should've added a togglable strobe to the demobox to make it easier to see they really are meshing perfectly
@GabrielAKAFinn11 жыл бұрын
Considering they are moving at opposite directions, if it wasn't that precise, at 4,500 rpm, the joints of those motors would explode and fly out of that case. What we heard was probably the end of the cog hitting the "valley" of the other cog.
@Zoza1511 жыл бұрын
Whats the big deal!?, its the precision and accuracy in high speeds before contact. That's quite impressive.

The Japanese are incredible with electronics. The Germans were traditionally leaders in mechanical devices. The two together... that would be really amazing. But this is pretty awesome all by it's self!
@Apropoetic11 жыл бұрын
It is pretty short sighted of you to think that that is what it's designed for and its only potential use. They even said in the video this technology could be used in regenerative braking systems in cars to more efficiently recharge the batteries in electric and hybrid vehicles.

I just assumed this has been going on every day in every airplane, military ship, and so on.

so u can dynamically couple 2 gears together without a permanent physical connection and then transfer power after they are coupled? You only need to sync 1 gear to spin up to match for that to work..The tolerances on those gear coupling must be microns..
@AtuOma11 жыл бұрын
amazing precision
