I assume you refer to traditional format? Pot of Avarice was returned to 1 in the last tcg banlist, so DAD is using the advanced format. Synchros have a lot of draw power and fill up the grave really easy. However it’s really sensitive so they cannot rely on Desires or extravagance for draw power. Avarice is the perfect draw card that recycles used monsters (to synchro more).

Because the meta has moved too fast, and sadly these cards aren’t as good to summon as before. QuickDraw is amazing for Needlefiber, but it conflicts with Junk Speeder’s effect and it isn’t out yet. None of the ‘synchron’ synchros are good anymore except for Satellite Warrior and Junk Speeder, and neither can be summoned by QuickDraw. Even Road Warrior is a stretch because it is an extender rather than win condition. Modern decks would destroy the 2013 Synchron synchros easily. QuickDraw is useful for summoning Tzolkin, but the extra deck is tight and doesn’t contribute to accel synchro summoning. Tuningware and clear effector have been replaced for Doppelwarrior, Synchron carrier, and junk converter. These level 2 can summon themselves more easily and help summon more monsters for more synchros. Hyper Librarian is already your draw power but for synchros having monsters on the field is invaluable. More monsters = more draws from librarian anyways, so it’s the same outcome as playing these but using less space in the main deck, which is really tight. You’d have to normal summon or Road Warrior these monsters. In the hand they are bricks and you prefer to normal summon Junk Synchron instead of these, so consistency is another reason.

MR5 now allows to synchro, xyz and fusion summon on normal monster zones now. You didn't knew?

Joshua Proctor Yes, starting April, TCG will move to MR5. Fusion synchro xyz will not depend on link arrows but can still use the extra monster zone. Link and pendulum still have to follow the extra monster zone rules of MR4. This was made in preparation for Yugioh Sevens (most likely to make the new summoning mechanic work but still unconfirmed). In another POV, Konami lost a big portion of the fan base that didn’t want to play links. They were horrified at MR4 and having to spend more money and monsters to summon out their favorite monsters, so MR5 and games like Duel Links were meant to help bring back casual players without needing links.
