SYNCHRONISED is all heart to hand AP McCoy a second Gold Cup at the 2012 Cheltenham Festival

A full 15 years after he first won the Gold Cup, AP McCoy was on Synchronised on this occasion and the nine-year-old powered up the hill amid wild celebrations to land racing's blue riband event at the 2012 Cheltenham Festival.
The Legendary Kauto Star, who was bidding to win his third Gold Cup at the age of 12, with his two successes coming in 2007 and 2009, was pulled-up at the ninth fence by jockey Ruby Walsh but was reported to be fine.
Synchronised is bred to win a Derby rather than a Gold Cup, and Sadler's Wells, his sire, is the first horse to have produced a winner of both races. In terms of his connections, his pedigree is all National Hunt, as he runs in the colours of JP McManus and is trained by Jonjo O'Neill, who won the 1986 Gold Cup on the legendary Dawn Run.

I counted 3 different occasions in the race I thought it was impossible for him to win from, what a ride and what a horse great race (I was on nothing so didn’t care from that point)

I thought the same bet u could of got 100/1 or more in running for that to win with the amount of iffy jumps that it did super ride by the legend and the horse was all heart and guns

Synchronised would sadly go on to suffer the same fate as the 1979 Gold Cup winner Alverton, losing his life in the Grand National

Apparently, Paul Townend on Gallopin Des Champs was the best ever gold cup ride even though he never spat the bit out unlike Synchronized who was well ridden a way out

What a beautiful horse and such a shame of the greed to run him again in the national a month later when he was not fit todo so, rip that horse and they wonder why so many people are against horse racing 🤷🏼‍♂️
