Synergy Plexi & 800 Modules

I’m a simple man. I see a Hamer in the thumbnail and I click. Favorite was by far the Plexi with the Korina Standard. SICK tone, complex, so much going on there besides just gain. I’d be interested to hear your opinions on the synergy Plexi module vs some of the other Plexi style circuits out there, like the Plexi channel on a few of the Friedman amps, etc. For those of us who will probably never own a real vintage Plexi Marshall...

I liked both! You nailed the 80's vibe with the 800 module, in both straight and boosted. Totally takes me back. I would use the Plexi module to try for Zeppelin type tones, or even Trower. But that's just where I'd go with it. Good one Leon!

Damn that Hamer is boss, mate! Nice video. I have the Synergy Diezel VH4 and am seriously thinking of the 800 module being my next module. Your demoes are excellent, practical and useful, and the playing is superb.

I think the Plexi and 800 modules sound very promising, and I may get them both (though I'm contemplating others, like getting both of the Fryette modules), but I don't care for the sound of that purple guitar. Not sure what it is, but it sounds like it is voiced in a strange manner or clipping things it wasn't clipping with the LP (same with the Explorer style Hamer; it sounds killer as well). The upper midrange/highs sound harsh, low end sounds flubby and not pleasant. Great looking guitar for sure, but the sound doesn't work to my ears. I'm thinking about getting the Synergy SYN-2 and two modules to pair with my Fryette Power Station PS-2A. Paired with EMGs (both active and passive running at 18V) with SPC and EXG controls in my guitars, I don't know if I'll need a boost with these modules.

The Plexi sings Jimi. The 800 should have a British flag on it. I had a JCM myself and also played a JTM at times. I hear them both in this Synergy demo. Excellent.

I would like to see a kraken v4 module I done use the pedal with my marshall they are killer . It would also be cool to see a h&k 2b&3a module from their triamp .

Dig these modules, Your demo style really works great. Playing and holding some big rock chords to hear the sustain as well as doing soling. You can actually hear what the amp does. Drives me bonkers when guys demo a higher gain amp and just chickenpick/blueswank. Cheers!!!

The JMP-1 has it's own sound, so if you want that then grab one. Personally I think these sound a little more like their namesakes than the OD1/OD2 modes on a JMP1.

I own Soldano module and both channels are exactly the same, with user’s choice to dial in different gain and volume on each channel. I guess it’s the same with plexi module.

Hi! Do you still use the Amplifire? Can you make a video on how to make sure both clean and high gain presets have the same volume without clipping? And how to set up the footswitches to do what I tell them to? They seem a mistery to me :)

I've seen Opeth use Synergy SLO and Uberschall for his live rig! And they sound Incredible. Could replace Axe and Kempers for stage in my opinion

@@LeonTodd you could use them both... Synergy as preamp and all the rest axe fx... I don’t have or ever played an axe fx but you could a/b it. Synergy as preamp and the rest axe fx and just axe fx... I did it with l6 helix and it sounded better than the modeling amps in the unit but used all the fx and ir’s in the helix.

Leon, I have to comment here. I just watched your video on how NOT to dial in the Axe FX. It was awesome. Maybe there's some territory left to cover on that topic..."What Idiot Guitar Players Get Wrong" which could include the gambit of unbridled stupidity that goes on while I'm browsing around KZbin looking at many "guitarists". Anything from tuning, intonation, being tone deaf, not having any rhythm, trying to play waaaaaaaaay faster than able. It would be a lol...but in a way also help people.

The Plexi module sucks in it's current configuration... No ability to clean up the lower gain channel...FAR too hot for lower/mid gain tone
