@Syntac It’s only the X-Raptors that have no pounce, I’m currently playing Aberration and there is nothing worse than getting dismounted from my Ravager. I think the X-Raptors dont have a pounce to balance them out, because of course they have increased resistance. I think a base built on platforms would look good in this biome, not only would it be great for defense, but it would make sense since the bog would probably flood often, so you'd want stilts under your house. It would also just look really cool

I probably died more in Genesis than any other map combined, and because I transferred from a cluster server (couldn't take our stuff) it wiped our endgrams but kept our levels so there was no way to craft, and because the easiest Biome is only the easiest because its the only biome where the temp doesnt kill you. It gets better when you put down a base but I lost count of all the kits I had to remake and couldn't get back...

You can harvest the swarms, but you have to find the "one" bug with the hit box. You only get raw meat and hide. No chitin/keratin.

I thought the Bog area was a super easy start. But that was probably because I started near a high level X Spino that was stuck in the terrain I was able to slingshot to unconsciousness. Made all the difference having a big Spino friend tagging along behind you in the Bog with all that water to boost its melee and defense.

Syntac: LOVE your videos! One tip, you can just hover over any item in your inventory and hit E to equip it without having to drag it to your hotbar everytime. then just tap/untap item on hotbar to switch items from what you are holding in your hand. I use hover E when I use Cryopods, Demo Gun, Transfer Gun, etc..

Hey Syntac, You can harvest the swarms the hitpoint is just a bit iffy... f you hit it and see it burn, thats the hitbox you have to hit with a tool to harvest it, probably also the spot where you get the dermis from

The body of the swarm isn't the bugs, it's like a central spot to the group. Also, they don't attack you when you're in water. There is a sweet spot you can sit in and kill them without being fully submerged.

I started in the bog. I tamed a iguanadon and 1 x-raptor. Three days into playing, some x-raptors killed me and all of my tames, and a daedon broke my entire base. I moved to the arctic.

I started in the bog... and the only annoying thing was the insect swarms (and raptors). My solution to insect swarms are getting machops. They do an insane amount of damage to them and easy to tame. And before you say it’s hard, you can buy rare flowers and mushrooms from HLNA shop.

I love the trees in that biome which is the reason why I live there. I died sooo many times. If you die because a bary stuns you and a Kapro grabs you, you have to bring a strong creature to kill the predators and grab your bag and at the end comes another Kapro and grabs you when you dismount to grab your bag... Wild Xraptors don’t pounce but you can when it’s tamed and not overweight :) also that little fire the swarm takes from your torch ia the hitbox, where you can harvest it, but it only gives a little meat and some skin, good for people who are starting a new char in the bog :) also if your feet are in water they wont target you:) hope it helps you out if you read it :) happy B-day to your cat tho! :D

Hey, you can very easily tame a therizinosaurus in the arctic with the ferox, just jump away when it gets close and carry on shooting tranqs at it. and you can protect it when it's down because the ferrox it a beast.

yea bog was a rough starting place lol but i made my base right by the spawn for ne and got some low level raptors tamed really fast then got a pachy. after that i just kept grinding and got a bloodstalker pretty quick after grinding out blood. also id recommend investing in spinos for a large carnivore since they can turn 360 standing still

I’m sure people have commented this but TIPS! The swarm seems to ignore you if you’re in water. Also if you’re on a mount they don’t bother you except if it’s an X creature. That’s what I’ve found so far. I had a carno and they never bothered me on him but when I got an X-Parasaur they came right for her.

Syn, when a creature that seems to be lots of small parts it actually has one main body and you might be able to get a dermis if you find the swarm's actually body (it's probably the part that gets lit on fire)

If any of you don’t know, when you press X on a Bloodstalker it will detach any web streams you have placed. Perfecting this while swinging through the trees feels *g o d l y*. “Thwip and release”
