I kinda felt like it would need to be a darker pink for it to remind me of watermelon personally. One reason my brains said Sakura instead. But could be my monitor is making it look lighter than it is for all I know.

I'm not entirely sure but I think that pillars also prevent respawning rocks and bushes. You could put them alongside the track to make railroad signs like "This way to ... Base" or "Watch out! Crossing Dinosaurs"

Vultures could be a good corpse harvesting option. They are not instant, but they help with preventing spoilage of the meat, and they are small and can fly out of the way. Set a few to all follow an argy perched above your pen and they will keep it clear.

There is an awesome MOD that goes perfectly with scorched called Visual Storage. I think it would fit in perfectly with this series. It even has a crane you can pull your creature up to to automatically unload it and distribute items to storage.

I do have that mod installed (haven’t used it yet though cause all my single players keep crashing and not letting me back on, possibly to many mods but maybe something to do with me being on Xbox) it is a very nice and ascetic mod, definitely good for less heavily modded or even RP play throughs and Syntac has said he won’t add any mods to the series. But seeing as WildCard will probably be slow with more content after The Center, and with Center being a less focused map he may do a modded play through for Center

Just a suggestion, and I know it’ll be resource hungry, but what you could do is have two tracks running next to each other, one going in one direction - the other going in the other direction. You could also add places here or there to turn around and switch tracks. This would allow for using the fastest route to get to places (instead of having to go around the whole map to go to somewhere behind you) however I understand this would take twice the amount of time and resources.

While I can see your point in that, why not consider that the trains can just as easily reverse. Loops to turn around on the same track would also be just as effective. No need to build a second track save for if the other guys are running at the same time.

a way I managed to stop some of the replenishing of resources was by putting a ton of pillars really close to the tracks. it didn't bother the view since they were all clustered to the rails so that might be something you have to do in rocky areas

You should make a train base. One carriage can be the taming pen, then have am industrial one with the forge, chem bench, crafting table. Then have a mess hall eith friges, cooker and grill.. Then you can have a couple storage ones. Then you can have a bunker carriage. This would be something really unique and I'd love to see it

when it comes to parking your train, you should build a train shed that can hold several full trains that connects to the track before your station. Think old fashioned steam train sheds. While expensive, it would look awesome.

Your train stop at your base might be problematic if someone drives their train to your base but then has to back up all the way because they can't continue through as your train blocks the way due to it's length. So since you're already considering making a new place to park it, personally I would suggest it. Also if you're going to make specific carts & parking for them I would also suggest having it so each park is next to each other so you don't have to shuffle them around. It is more work however.

My train station is a branch off from the main line so its not going to block anyone from passing by, they just cant park at my station when I have mine there (which will likely be 99% of the time because it'll make the town look cooler to always have a train at the station)

There's a mod similar to Dino Storage I use called Dino Depot, but unfortunately the developer for Dino Storage has temporarily retired and hasnt made anything for ASA last I checked a few weeks ago, so don't expect anything anytime soon from them. Dino Depot is almost a 1:1 remake from the ASE DS V2 though.

Heads up on the trains Syntac! You can add more than 5 carts! What you need to do is add a new train engine a bit aways from your other train. Add some carts to that engine and then unhook the carts. Take the engine off the tracks and back your main train with all 5 carts into the other carts and attach it. It will then be a train with more than 5 carts. At least until wildcard figures this out and patches it.

Pelayori's cryo storage mod is basically dino storage for ASA. Cryo terminal picks up babies in an auto trap, you can also kill the souls of the creatures inside if you don't want them.

Syntac, to make your animal pen maybe blend in with the final town structures from afar (since your base will be nearby and in sight), you could try making a circus tent area with the walls as they are and a big peaked roof with a pole in the center to support. It'd be so hard to make, but maybe with some paint you could make thatch or metal look like striped canvas? Alternatively, a square tent would definitely be easier and still look silly and cool. Edit: now that I thought about it for 2 seconds longer, tek roofs have a good matte finished texture compared to everything else for cloth. You could totally (in 500 more hours) make a giant tek tent.

I think it's called SCS Dino Collection, it's basically a direct port of Dino Storage with the exception that soul balls cost the same as cryopods. I've been using on my server and it works great!

Our tribe made a Train Depot for our track that splits into different end tracks. It works pretty well for us. Pillars snap to tracks btw, and you can snap the foundations to the pillars if you want to make it precise 😊

I do t know if anyone's mentioned the new way mutation breeding works but it's now a separate stat. You can breed up level 1s and get (let's say) 10 mutations on health. Those mutations aren't guanteed to be passed on with the base stat. But that also means you can then breed your 10 mutations onto a 150 base stat. I've also noticed mutations happening in colour with no stat increase

They really should add something akin to the Skill Point Potion mod to Vanilla/Official. Add a cooldown if they just I don’t see any drawbacks to balance or literally anything. Just eliminates the need for an alternate character leveled only in Crafting Skill.

i’ve got over 100 hrs in the trains. server restart glitches the first car into engine and can’t be fixed (must destroy car. only way to stop this is to disconnect the first car from the Loco before logging out. having short pull offs for your different type of cars would work well. clay car(gen and chem benches), metal car has a industrial forge on it, flat bed transport car, dinning car, sleeping car, storage car, taming car, jail car

Replacement for Dino Storage V2 try Super Cryo Storage!!! Is almost a strait copy/upgrade from Dino Storage in ASE!! It has a Cryo Terminal that can Auto trap babies and passively generate resources if enabled! Instead of Soul Balls it has CryoBalls that show's stat points, colours and other information And a mod similar to S+ in ASA try QoL+ It is a fork and migration of the S+ ,it has everything you want from it Multi-tool(pickup gun), Omni-tool, Structures: Hitching Post, AC, Feeding Trough, Bee Hive, Farmer, Gardener, Nanny, etc.. And it has ITEM PULLING!!! the only thing it is missing is a Crafting Station to craft the same items from player inventory like wood/stone structures etc..

Tried to build my base over by the red obelisk. Unfortunately i built it right on one of the invisible lines where one spot is 86 degrees in the day, but if you take two steps north it's 158 degrees. for all the flashy upgrades they put in ASA i would have hoped they would fix those absurd temperature walls

IMO the spiritual successor to the soul balls mod from ASE is Pelayori's Cryo Storage. Does basically everything the Soul Balls can do in ASA.

Dino Depot is the mod that I would personally call the spiritual successor actually. It's a lot closer to what dino storage did in ASE with the balls being crafted with crystal and being an actual round ball instead of a cryopod.
