The Lost Island Series is a Syntac Adventure on ARKs latest Map. In this series Syntac will tame, breed and mutate all of the new beasts that roam this ARK, the Amargasaurus, the Dinopithecus and the Sinomacrops with the hopes of facing the Dinopithecus King Boss and his minions!

Here a list of what to do when taming a sinomocrops 1. Don’t run 2.don’t jump 3. Don’t approach it let it approach you 4.clear area of predators Reasons: if you run to it it will get frightened you have unlimited time to feed it so don’t rush, it will come all the way to you. When you see the hearts don’t move at all, cause when it lands it will approach you to where you can feed it.

I'm inclined to agree with you on the Sinomacrops. I was initially disappointed about getting another shoulder pet (I rarely use anything other than glow pets these days because I don't have to carry a torch), but the Sino is quickly shaping up to be my new favorite. They're cute, they're useful, and I can't wait to breed them for all the best colors!

Tbh theh would Definitely be broken in pvp, since you can carry ammo in it inventory and fly while using a weapon. Gonna summon them in my private server and test it with my friend.

If you press X instead of C, which does the glider, that's how you can manually activate the Sinomacrops "parachute" function that you also found when it ran out of stam

From what I've heard, sinomacrops hate being crowded, so following them around just makes them run away. They can still find you around 100m away.

The main thing is you can't trap them, which Syn did catch on to. If they're trapped then they won't calm down enough to be fed. What creatures startle them is a little bit more difficult to figure out, best bet is just to try to tame them alone and treat it like Shadowmanes. A lot of crouching and slow movements

This is why a map with a unique creature needs to come with the dossier for said creature. It's so stupid they don't. It says right in the dossier that they scare easily.

To tame them don't follow them but tried to not outside of rang it from 100m to 200 m and it is better to like in 100m to 150m and when they get hungry they go to you but stay in rang so they come to you.

From personal testing when I first found them, they don't seem to notice you unless you are 30-35m away, nowhere near 100m. They get spooked if you move when they are 15-20m away. When not spooked, they fly at roughly walking speed, so you can easily keep up and stay at the 30m range to not spook them an get them instantly interested when the cooldown is finished.

When taming a sinomacrops, dont run. You have to walk up step by step slowly, and as soon as you see the hearts( when you already fed once, look at the meter under the taming tracker, the hearts appear around 40-35 meters) dont move. The sinimacrops will walk right up to your feet when u dont move, and after you fed it, wait until its around 60 meters away before you follow it carefully.. I tested it a lot, and i messed up my first few tames too before i realized that. So please like so everyone can see this!

You have to be really passive with them. Ive tamed quite a few of them now and they seem to come to you when you're within 30-40 meters. DONT RUN, if you run they spook really easily. Don't even punch the air, they're really skittish. Let them walk up to you, then slowly walk the remaining distance once they stop to feed them. They'll fly away, walk a bit away as well til they're about 60 meters or more away, wait about 10-20 seconds then approach again, they should come up to you again. Rinse and repeat and it should be tamed in no time! Another thing I've noticed is damage will make them lose taming progress but not effectiveness. So if they start to starve they'll slowly lose taming process. But if something like a cargo hits them once they'll lose it all instantly. Oh also idk if you know Syntac, but pressing X when falling will make the Sino act like a Parachute, like when it ran out of stamina when you tried to fly up the tower. As an extra bonus, its stamina can regenerate when doing so.

I have noticed the same as you, but also some extra stuff: They get spooked if you move when they are mainly 15-20m away. When not spooked, they fly at roughly walking speed, so you can easily keep up and stay at the 30m sweet spot range to not spook them an get them instantly interested when the cooldown is finished. Didn't figure out about the parachute deal though, but perhaps because ARK blessed me with a high level one I don't run out of stam, plenty of time and spare stam when I find a spot to rest.

Tip for sinamocrops. If you double tap jump the sinamocrops will do a quick short burst upwards. Very helpful for gaining altitude

I’m going to let you on a little thing I heard about. They attack players using chitin armor, so if you equip a set of chitin you’re essentially a honey trap for the little buggers. I heard you can also lure them into a prebuilt trap by having them case you while you’re wearing chitin into a trap and then passive taming them that way, which they lose agro once you take all the chitin off and you can passive tame them after, so don’t worry about having to get out of their render distance.

Most shoulder pets half the weight of items in their inventory, always called them backpacks, but this one has the ability to access it from your shoulder, so it's infinitely more useful.

Since it’s red and black name it Deadwing (Deadpool and Wing) Oh by the way Syntac if you put the clap emote on a hotkey you can use that to trigger the sino scream quickly. Also the parachute thing the sino did to save you can be triggered on purpose, I forgot which key tho.

Fun fact: you can also do the light up emote to make the sino scream and if you run out of stam in the air it will turn into a slightly faster parachute.

So, most shoulder pets have the weight reduction. And it's good too be patient with Sinos. Let it come too you, rushing at them seems tooscare them off. And once they get scared, they are pretty much untameable. If you see one, walk around it slowly. Let it notice you, then let the hearts go. It should turn too you and eventually land and do some cute hops towards you. It should be feedable. Track it and wait for too notice you again. Beware they seem too not like when you have something aggro'd too you or a nearby tame.

Easy way to tame one without chasing it, you need a few standing torches and a wooden signpost, crouch and wait for one to come to you, don't feed it right away as long as you don't move you can take your time to place the torches around it, the front ones are a bit tricky to get the distance right and need a bit of practise so it can land on the ground when it's ready to eat, try to place them just outside of where it's claws/hands are then place the rest around it, needs about 5 or 6 to cage it in and leave enough room for it to land so you can feed it, place the signpost on one side and rotate it so it goes roughly though the middle (k cam/orbital cam helps) now you can start feeding, it's important that you don't move and stay crouching

Wear chitin to attract Sino's. They'll attack, but you can quickly take that armor off. Don't chase them, and do NOT walk towards them when they land. Let them walk to you to be fed, also just put a water well thing at the top of the tower since it rains a lot on this map.

Pausing at 12:43 to say you could try dropping the cage on their head. The tall cage used for people. On this server that has ravens and owls the most effective means of taming them is to drop the cage on their head when they land. then we can keep feeding them through the bars until they're tamed. I think that would work perfectly on these guys.

Nope anything that stops it from flying away will cause them not to land and lose taming %. This includes all buildings, tent, cage, and if it gets stuck on a cliff. It can find you from up to 100m so don’t worry about that cause chasing to close causes it not to land. Also it will walk up to you to be feed.

since they aren't a very common tame I would be very happy if you tamed the spider!especially since it's such a high level.at the very least it'll make a decent base guard.and you can probably take it with you to help in the cave under your base while you ride a raptor or saber.

You don't even need tek boots for this thing. when the sinomacrop runs out of stamina in the air,it immediately turns into a parachute and you will just slowly fall down without taking any fall damage.

If you switch into glider mode, dive down, pull up, then hold space bar you will maintain the glide speed but use the fly and be able to go up and horizontally at the gliding speed.

Answering about 2:30, not sure if you found it already. Double tap your inventory button, Tab for me to open Sino inv. Also, they kept flying away because they're very skittish and you went up on them too fast. Again, you may have already found out, just trying to help.

I don't know if it is only on the server I am on, but in the "gloom" part of the map (central-ish, jungle/swamp) there is a massive overspawn of stegosaurus and leeches. 90% of the land creatures are stegos, and the waters are infested by armies of leeches, up to 16 have gone after me at once from just dipping my toes in
