Awesome video. Although, I knew all that already, a refresher once in a while is always a good idea. And it was beautifully presented and explained.

Are there any synths that have an inbuilt arpeggiator rather than using another synth (?) plugged into another to make arpeggios?

Back in the day, we had a synth and audio store. When you walked in, they didnt rush over to sell you something. They were creating magic on some roland synths. Then they would share some of those secrets with you. I get this same experience here. Its just like that. Thanks for the magic instruction.

Arpeggiator with delay is the best! It's basically all I do when I touch my synth :D Also Nils Frahm can make entire pieces of just arpeggios with a tape delay (like Says and All Melody)

I just bought a Roland DS88 and I've been recording some of my own material. Never knew how to use an arpeggiator until now! There's a harp that I've been trying to add into the song!!! Now I've got some great ideas! Thank you!

You are the perfect teacher. Thank you. Over the last few months I bought some synths and related gear, even though I can't play any instruments and don't know any music theory. But I have always loved music and always knew I wanted to make some of my own. I get into ruts where I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and everything I press just sounds wrong... lol. In those times, videos like this are incredibly helpful. The way you explain complex (or at least what first appear to be complex) things in a very simple way without assuming any prior knowledge is really brilliant. Plus you just seem like such a cool and friendly guy. Thanks again.

I am struggling to get my two synths and drum machine to work together let along design a melodic pattern that sounds more musical than small angry dog barking. This tutoiral was exceeptionally helpful and I'd encourage you to do more along the lines of okay I bought the box now what? Thanks very much and yes I got things working. It doesn't sound pretty but it's a start.

This is a very good instructional video on arpeggiators up until the last piece when although the 3 units were all clock synced it still sounded a mess. I have several synths with arps but my favourite is my Supernova which is 8 part multitimbral. The unique feature is that you can run all 8 parts on seperate different arpeggiators and also each part has its own effects chain so you could use 8 different delays if you wanted. I have never pushed it that far though purely because it would be too muddled and would probably run out of polyphony being only 20 voices but for working with multiple arps on different sounds it is a real beast.

The Infinite Trip that sounds awesome , I have a Mininova and I am unimpressed by its arpeggios
@theinfinitetrip4283
@theinfinitetrip4283 4 жыл бұрын
 Jason and the robots I have no hands on experience with the Mininova but the arpeggiator looks similar to the Microkorgs which is very basic. The Supernova can do mono or poly arps and up to 64 steps. There are 127 mono patterns 127 poly patterns and 127 user patterns. You can write your own patterns easily . I have owned this synth since 2000 and never tired of what it can do. It is probably the best VA synth ever made. Incidentally I see you are a fan of the Korg Microsampler. I own one of those too ....a very underated instrument imo.

What cables do you use on output on moog matriarch?
@sweetwater

Hi tt&b. We almost always use Pro Co cables here. They have a lifetime replacement warranty that's hard to beat. Just type "pro co" into the Sweetwater Search window to see their entire line of cables. -_Daniel_

@@sweetwater do they have the same quality like Mogami W 2549 with neutrik gold and W3368 with same connector that i love coz of the quality. My schultz cables start to crackle after one year. so what pro co cable and connector do you have from synth to nightsky and volante and cable between the pedals to interface clarett+. Pre from synth to Styrmon AA.1 in to eurorack, and to pedals one back to sy th or interface? is there 1 cable to Rule them all lite mogami w2549 with neutrik ”that is little to big but hole a life time to. and how do you get rid of USB hub noise. or is it better with USB 2.0 pci card for that, and what card or hub is best for all gear its just data. what is the different is it the chip or USB port on hub pre pci that is on separate lanes?
