Synth DIY Guy Meets Under the Big Tree

Now this is a special video that I'm delighted to share with you.
I was at Knobcon 2022, and met Quincas Moreira, aka Synth DIY Guy, in an elevator. I told him how much I enjoyed his KZbin channel, and later approached him about recording a video together.
He agreed, and we sat down and turned on the camera. The result is a wholly unexpected, stream of consciousness conversation about DIY synths, electronic music, Zen Buddhism, music education, making a living in audio, and the pure passion that drives what we both do. It was a fascinating, uplifting conversation, and I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for capturing this beautiful conversation between two fascinating people. I wasn't expecting so many life lessons and quotable moments in such a short period of time. The more people I talk to as I get older, the idea that you both talked about regarding "life has much better plans for you than you could make yourself" is almost universal - we pretty much always wander into what we ultimately do for a living, despite whatever best-laid paths and intentions we may have had at the beginning. Though, there's still opportunity to shape your own direction, as you said Nick, "luck comes to the prepared mind." What would you say to someone who _doesn't_ know where they want to go or what road they want to travel?
