First of all, I love the video! But I do have a question :). Are there really more H2CO3 molecules in the ocean since the temperature is rising as well, which reduces the solubility of CO2 in H2O? Or has the temperature been rising little enough to make this influence negligible?

Prometheus fuels is using carbonic acid to make alcohols and hence fuels.. pretty cool.

I was only passive listening i see the one chemical on the side , and i noticed you blowing through a straw . See i heard of a shampoo called carbonic acid shampoo . So basically if i blow air into my shampoo using a straw could i potentially create carbonic acid . As i hear that carbonic acid is good for removing clogged hair pores.

From a chemistry perspective, that probably wouldn't work as well as just blowing air into a cup of water - the chemical reaction is between Carbon Dioxide (which you breathe out) and Water. Unless your shampoo is really watery, you're missing one of the reactants. From a hair-care perspective I have no idea if that is a good idea. I can tell you that salicylic acid is a common component in acne medication, but I suspect the exact correct pH is pretty important. Realistically, anything you make with this technique is going to be very low concentration and probably not have any sort of noticeable effect, but as a general principle it's probably a bad idea to DIY acids to put on your body.

Lol look at the first ingredient on your shampoo label.

Actually carboxylic acid breaks down minerals and skeletons and bone and rocks like limestome. Soo it can be used up by that instead of just breaking down.

How would you produce a measurable concentration of carbonic acid? I am planning on doing a biology experiment with different concentrations of carbonic acid on calcium carbonate shells.

I would probably see if I could buy powdered Carbonic acid, and then add different quantities to the same volume of water to create different concentrations. If you want to easily simulate the reaction though, one easier method would be using an acid you already have access to, like acetic acid (vinegar). Eggshells, like the shells of mollusks, are made of calcium carbonate. One fun way to simulate this is to try taking a raw egg and placing it in a cup of vinegar for a few days to see what happens!
