Largely good reviews, so I will add some critique. First, I am very disappointed that there is no mention anywhere from Hockeyshot that it dulls your skates 10x faster than ice. That significantly increases the cost of use over 10 years, and should be factored in. Additionally it is pretty inconvenient to have to sharpen your skates a couple of times a week, or daily if you're a heavy user. Plus the cost of mileage driving to the pro shop, or the cost of buying your own skate sharpening equpiment, neither of which are being factored into the cost of ownership. " The product MUST be installed on a grippy sub-floor or mat. It can not be installed directly onto concrete or hardwood, as the whole sheet will slide along the floor with any sudden movement. This may not be an issue with extremely large surfaces, but mine is 30 tiles or 70 sq ft and the whole sheet shifts 6-12 inches with any start or stop. There is no mention of this on the product, which is not only annoying and adds to the cost of installation, but is a safety issue I'm surprised went completely under the radar. Someone is going to get hurt trying to skate and having the whole thing shift underneath them. Third, the product comes with zero documentation, installation instructions, usage guide, or anything. You can get some info online, and maybe I'm old school that way but there should really be a guide with this product given its peculiarities and requirements.

My question is what would happen during your practice if you try and stop because the floor is rough, you could dig down through the ice and ultimately end up in your sharp corner and crack your skull against the boards in the corner. That's about it, getting ready for my flight. Take care! P.S Come to Brampton and check out my setup, real ice in my fathers garage. Don't worry about a stick, we got plenty of them here. Something like this is meant as an off-ice training where the idea is to simulate as closely as possible to on-ice. Roller blades have a substantially different feel, and set of capabilities. As a result they don't transition as well. Not even with something like the marsblades. If you're just a casual Joe, looking to stay active, where the feel doesn't have to mimic on-ice, certainly roller blades with a roller hockey puck and abs stick will suffice.

@reillybrennan65488 жыл бұрын
Why does this happen?
@bennetw.murray62398 жыл бұрын
+Reilly Brennan ice is a lot less resistant than a shooting pad, as well as ice being more difficult to get a "hold" on the puck due to the blade of your stick slipping across the ice, therefore disabling you to flex the stick properly.
@jasonrekker43282 жыл бұрын
@@reillybrennan6548 when you perform the shooting motion for a high shot, the blade pushes against the puck and then the puck rides up on the blade so you can get under it. When the puck is on a grippier surface, when the blade pushes against the puck it does not move forward as quickly, so it rides up your blade more easily. On a more slippery surface, when your blade pushes against the puck it slides forward more quickly, so it does not ride up your blade as much. You may notice a different as well when shooting on fresh ice vs snowy ice at the end of a game. You can overcome this by increasing shot quickness and power, which increases the speed difference between your blade and the puck.
