If I may make a couple suggestions for future product review videos. 1. Do a true before and after. Remove the dirty oil, replace it with clean oil + flush so we see the color change from the deposits being broken down. 2. For a true before and after on the filter and oil quality take a sample of the old oil and send it for analysis. After you change the new oil with the new filter take a sample and send it for analysis. 3. Then compare the results to see if its really better. As it currently stands this video is just an info-commercial for AMSOIL products (which I currently use in my truck and hot rod). Add some science and gain some credibility in my opinion.

It's a joke that all of these people know about it and refuse to use it after seeing our testimonials. Everyone on here is so ignorant. Here we are telling everyone how good it is and they still refuse to use it. And what gets me, they have no real reason for using what they are using!!! They keep using their old oils all because somebody else used it or because it's what they have been using for a long time. That is NOT a good enough reason to stick with something. I am loyal to nobody. If your product is proven to be better, I'm switching to it. And Amsoil has went through all the trouble to pay for ASTM testing to show solid proof that their oils are the better value. That was plenty to convince me. I am not special. If I can switch to this oil after seeing the ASTM testing, EVERYBODY SHOULD!

The Amsoil signature series is less than half the price then the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum because you can drive further on an oil change. Also the oil filtration idioms oil makes is superior and you will get less wear on your pistons and cams then using the Pennzoil because the oil filters flow faster at startup and the hundred percent synthetic also has a higher pressure film strength. The price that you saw was retail as an Amsoil preferred customer the motor oil is less money than the Pennzoil because as a preferred customer you get 25% off and free shipping on any order $100 or more. @robertboeh1857 yeah that is still a poor representation representation of the oil the actual real world testing is where it's at with the mixing of gasoline as fuel dilution as you compare them in the real world there is a very big difference the one is 100% synthetic the other one is a full synthetic which can be labeled full synthetic when it's 25% synthetic or more the film strength is different along with the ability to clean inside the engine. ♥️ See Oil & Lube performance tests - www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx?zo=5331179

Although I like Amsoil, the PurolatorOne does not last as long, but it's better at filtering. It's a 99% filter at 15 microns, but is only good for 10,000 miles. If you have a new car or are breaking in a rebuild, the Purolator is a better choice as you shouldn't go past 5,000 for the first oil change anyway, regardless of the oil you use. After that, you can go to longer intervals with a higher mileage / larger micron filter like the Amsoil. (I'd swap out the stock filter immediately with a new car regardless of the mileage and just top off the oil, then run it to break it in) Why I like Amsoil. When I went from the stock differential oil to Severe Gear and used Amsoil ATF to replace the sock synthetic transfer case ATF in my Frontier Pro-4X, the free rolling characteristics were noticeably better and transferring from 2WD to 4HI and 4LO happened much quicker. Was very happy with the changes.

For someone that is attempting to present himself as knowing all things related to vehicle maintenance I am surprised you didn’t know that you don’t have to prefill an oil filter. All you have to do is flood start the car. Put the gas pedal all the way to the floor and then attempt to start the car for 10 seconds. The computer will not allow the car to start but the oil filter will get filled. This only works on fuel injected cars.

The Amsoil Dominator racing oil is the best track day oil because of the zinc and phosphorus also it has proprietary additives that modify the oil for higher lubricity so you make more power and also it's 100% synthetic just like the signature series so that would be the best for doing the track days. Sweet! Happy to hear you tried it!!! How does your car feel different? What type of car?
I don't really have anything too special but I put a ton of my own work into it. I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu 1LT that I converted into an almost perfect LTZ clone except for the automatic climate controls, heck I even restored autodimming outside mirrors that were deleted from the LTZ versions after 2010. So it would only make sense to protect it with AmsOil. I will say that the engine runs really well. I can't say I notice a ton of changes with it but my gas mileage does seem to be a bit better with it and plus I want that extra protection as I want this car to last as long as possible.
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
Sweet! Yeah it's going to be cool to see the way the oil doesn't burn off like other oil as you go through the course of the year. Did you do a flush on it and put Pi performance improver in it?
@ViperJay55 жыл бұрын
I did not do a flush on the Malibu actually, but I did add in two bottles of the PI Performance Improver over the course of the last two months. When it comes to fuel, I only use Shell or BP and maybe the occasional non-top tier fuel station if I have the rewards for almost a free tank of gas. Now, I'm going to be putting AmsOil XL in my 03 Impala and that I do plan to get a bottle of engine flush for it, especially considering it suffered from a blown head gasket about 7 years ago and even though it was repaired, it was obviously never cleaned.

@@Interestingworld4567 Well that’s his opinion. Y’all can do what you want. I’ve spoken to engineers in the oil industry and they say it’s not the heat or cold that causes issues nor the shearing effects, especially in synthetics. What causes oil breakdown in all oils is the byproducts of combustion. Plus every time you shut off your engine small amounts of fuel left behind seep down into your oil pan. Hence why short trips require more changes. Short trips are bad due to the engine never getting and staying at temp. Think condensation here. As you may know, fuel and water are bad for oil. If you read a vehicles owners manual, almost all driving can be considered severe driving and require sooner changes. So I keep doing sooner changes and getting high mileage trouble free engines in my vehicles.

You dont need to flush just change the oil more. You do this and you take a chance of jamming up the oil pump pickup screen
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
Actually what the flush does is it actually thins out the oil and the laminate sit and actually pulls the oil out of the oil screen and actually cleans the oil pump out. Also it pulls oil coking out of inside of the turbo so the turbo is cleaner and cools better because the oil is closer to the metal and there's less insulator which is the carbon so you actually have more power. I appreciate the comment Joseph and if you decide to try a engine flush let me know how your vehicle drives🤟🚘☕🇺🇸

Amsoil OE is equivalent to most regular full synthetics. The Amsoil 7500 with a Mobil One or Royal Purple filter will go 7,500 miles and it's not as expensive as Signature oil which is high priced if you change it too often. I tried to get AMSOIL to test 7500 versus plain old style Mobil one and they are not interested. They really want to sell the Signature line. If they dropped the price of OE to compete with Mobil One I would use it with a FRAM 10,000 mile filter. That would make for a cheap oil change every 5000 miles.

Hey Doug! Thanks for being a part of my KZbin channel. I noticed you wanted to try the Amsoil Oe for less money which you can with MyLink well actually get you 25% off and free shipping on any order $100 or more as an Amsoil preferred customer it's less money than Mobil 1. Also the Amsoil OE is quite a bit better than mobil one because it's 100% synthetic where the mobile one is not 100% synthetic. You'll notice that the Amsoil OE will last longer your engine will run smoother and you'll actually have less drag in the motor getting you better gas mileage. If you're considering trying a oil change I also recommend doing a engine flush before you do the motor oil which gets all the carbon out of the Rings and any sludge that's inside the crankcase. Also another nice add to that is the Amsoil Pi performance improver which cleans the valves and the carbon deposits inside the combustion chamber restoring your engines efficiency and improving the fuel mileage and Power. Bad news. I wouldn't do it that way. You don't turn back the clock on a dirty engine. At best you just stop it. Myself, in that exact production, I would just accelerate the oil change interval, use semi-synthetic oil and hope for the best. But you don't want to use a low-end filter. If those clumps break loose, you don't want them to bypass the filter and end up clogging up an oil passage. Normally, they will just slowly dissolve. All they are is high-weight hydrocarbons. In small quantities dispersed through the entire volume of the oil, they can't do any harm as individual molecules.

Amsoil is about 2 to 4 times less money. You'll save about $100 in gas in 10,000 miles on the average SUV because the hundred percent synthetic Flo's with less parasitic drag in the crankcase and it'll also be much smoother and make more power. You will have about one-third of the wear and the Pistons and cams so you'll make more compression. Also you'll only do one oil change instead of 3 to 5 oil changes. That'll save you about 5 to 7 hours of Labor. So it's quite a bit of a difference this is the standard tests on it. Everyone does know that “synthetic” in motor oils just means it’s refined more then conventional. Most of your true synthetic oils are very hydroscopic and readily mix with water, which is a no go in open to atmosphere systems, and commonly used in HVAC systems and other closed systems where a regular oil change is not available. Motul is one of the very few oils that does have a legit synthetic oil line up. As a side note, you can not mix mineral oil and true synthetic oils (the oils will loose their better characteristics) so if your “synthetic” motor oil has an api seal it is readily mixable with any other motor oils with the api seal as well, under their standards, so you’d know that “synthetic” motor oil is not a true synthetic, just a more refined mineral oil.

I've had great success with a oiled air raid cold air intake on my Corvette. I've never had any problems with a K&N Filter yet however I'm sure if it's not seated properly with the silicone if there's any type of air flow that goes around it you can have a lot of dirt get by if there's not a perfect seal. There's air boxes that the K&N Filter Works with and then there's some that it doesn't fit correctly and the moldings crooked and it'll never sit flat and in that case you could definitely have some problems lol Thanks for sharing that with the channel Terry really appreciate you being a part of my community🤟🇺🇸☕

The previous owner must have been too rough on the filter as when holding it up to light, you could actually see pinholes of light twinkling through at the pleat corners. I found a lot of dust coating the walls on the inside of duct to the engine. I cleaned it and replaced the filter with the same kind. The new filter had no pinholes, only a glow of light through the fabric. SInce it is a 300k mile engine, wouldn't the flush be doing more damage than good? I've read on articles and heard from mechanics that the engine flush will cause leaks due to seals being weakened from the flush.
@Syntheticoilprotection3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question The flush actually helps the gaskets get oil circulation and get reconditioning from the motor oil when the sludge is covering it It basically is suffocating it so the flush will actually help it in the long run however if the gaskets are already cracked then it will reveal whatever cracks are there and it could leak if the gasket is already damaged. However the flush itself will not hurt the gasket at all and it's safe enough to do a flush every oil change. I always recommend doing an engine flush every single diesel oil change because of the high soot and keeping the turbo screen clean and keeping the oil cloaking away also on regular gas motors I recommend doing the engine flush when you switch over the first time to amsoil. This is a great question! Show all the full synthetic motor oils are a synthetic blend and they're usually about 70% synthetic or less and they are very very inexpensive lubricants and they break down quickly and they offer much much less protection and less temperature extremes incapabilities then 100% synthetic. Show 100% synthetic is all engineered for a specific application. 100% synthetic lubricants have a much higher film strength and they don't break down and oxidized like mineral oil because the molecule doesn't allow the carbon to stick to it like a refined mineral oil. 100% synthetic will protect your pistons and cams about two to four times better then a mineral oil. Also they flow with less parasitic drag so you will have better gas mileage. All the major motor oils in the stores in box stores are all synthetic blend Mobil 1 Pennzoil all of them. The term "Full Synthetic" is a result of a lawsuit and subsequent ruling of the Court. Full synthetics are still blends of synthetic base stocks and conventional base stocks but at a much higher ratio than "Synthetic Blend" oils. "100% Synthetic" is just that, 100%.

My engine has slight oil smoke. I’m not too sure what the current state of the engine is in terms of sludge. Is there a danger in using this flush on an engine that may have a higher amount of sludge? Mine has about 220,000 miles. It has a slight smoke mostly during hard revs. What do you recommend? I am intrigued!

If it was my personal car I would flush it immediately change it over to the inside signature series use the AMS oil filter PI performance improver fuel additive I would also power foam the car with the yellow can of amswell power foam I would also get a second oil filter that way you can replace the oil filter after about 5,000 mi because it's going to get full with a lot of carbon deposits. If you ever have any other questions you can always reach out to me anytime I'm going to add a Porsche engine flush video here in a second. Next level would be to use cheap oil+filter and put it in before doing the flush. The cleaner would now only need to dissolve old crap from the inside walls. Mostly.. Even better

So I have 2017 ford escape ecoboost 1.5 everyone says use the fluid that it calls for which is motorcraft 5w-20 so if I did this it would not screw my motor up and I change oil every 3,000 I've recently noticed blow bye coming out my throttle body and with what if seen and read that these turbochargers /ford's are known for that so I will also be installing a catch can but because of the blow bye that is in there I thought I would also do a engine flush to get whatever crude buildup out of there or should I not do the flush.

There's a couple things I would do on this one I would do the amsoil PI performance improver and I would also do the AMS oil power foam and the AMS oil engine flush. If it was my car I would also run the amsoil Signature Series with the amsoil oil filter. this is my personal link and if you ever have any questions you can always reach out to me anytime 😃 Professional YouLubher: Eben Rockmaker Regency Direct Jobber AMSOIL Specialist (Dealer#: 5331179) Mobile: (702) 472-3614 Synthetic Oil Protection Website - syntheticoilprotection.net/ I recommend the 6-month preferred customer membership because that way you'll get the wholesale price at about 25% off and you'll also have the free shipping. So I know you said you guys chose to go with 10W-30 because of Vegas, but can you go more in depth with that?
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
Yes the 10w weight has less additives for cold-weather and those additives take up space in the lubricant and the lubricant will actually hold up better over time in high heat when it has a higher winter weight. The thickening properties are a little bit different. We're talking a very very minut difference. The 0w 40 cost more money because it has more of those proprietary additives so it flows at -20 degrees below zero fahrenheit

Synthetic Oil Protection Synthetic Oil Protection ok nice I did not know that. I like this video a lot because own a 97 4runner with the same engine and ”allegedly” has 300k on the clock. Ive been undoing all the years of neglect for last year. I’ve been looking into Amsoil for a little while and I have a family member in Vegas and he swears by it. I’m in CA and we don’t Get any intense cold weather other then the handful of times going up to the mountains when it snows. so I’m interested in the 10-30. But I know you mentioned that you guys chose a synthetic blend not a full 100% synthetic?
@nolanjohnson6175 жыл бұрын
So full synthetic means it’s a blend? Where did you read that? Full means 100%
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
Correct the full synthetic are mineral oil and synthetic mixed together and they have a much lower film strength also they burn off easier and they break down and sludge much quicker. Anytime you have contaminants added into a pure 100% synthetic you will have a sickening process and a breaking down of the lubricant. Forever 18 degrees hotter a motor oil runs it oxidizes twice as fast. So to put it into perspective this is a comparison of oils: AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil protects against harmful deposits on turbochargers 4X better than Mobil1® Extended Performance and 3.6X better than Royal Purple® in industry-standard testing*. www.amsoil.com/newsstand/motor-oil/articles/leading-the-field-in-deposit-protection/?zo=5331179

How does the Fuel Additives stop all the junk in the fuel filter from going into the engine? What’s the point of the filter if you got that liquid?
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
Basically the fuel system cleaner is proprietary and it has a chemical reaction and pulls the carbon deposits off the cylinder and the all the cylinders and all the different parts. Also cleans the injectors so they Spritz correctly and you get better gas mileage and power cleaner burn. This is the full detail right up on the product - www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/fuel-additives/gasoline/p-i-performance-improver-gasoline-additive/?code=APICN-EA?zo=5331179
@Syntheticoilprotection5 жыл бұрын
The fuel filter primarily catches large Flakes and particles as the fuel system breaks down it can flake and also there is gas that has small particles as well and that keeps it from going in the engine. It's good to change the fuel filter about every 30 to 50 thousand miles depending on the vehicle

@Syntheticoilprotection3 жыл бұрын
Awesome Yes that's very a common with a car like that they usually burn oil after a couple years. I recommend the PI Performance Improver as well and also the Power Foam. I also would recommend using the Amsoil signature series with the Amsoil oil filter. I would get a wicks filter for your car so you can do a filter change at 3,000 mi and then put on the Amsoil filter afterwards and what that's going to do is get a lot of the build-up out of the motor and the oil will clear up and look even better in the car will run better when you do a filter change. It could have been the wrong additive for that specific application just depends there also could be the wrong amount added just depends on what you were using and the strength. Also it could have been a coincidence we're the gasket were already shot and it made them leak a whole lot worse

Good content! QQ - apart from longevity, how does the Amsoil Signature compare with Amsoil OE? How significant is the improvement. Would be good to know if Amsoil OE is good enough. TIA! 😅👍🏼
@Syntheticoilprotection3 жыл бұрын
Well they're both great oils they're both 100% synthetic they're both going to have a higher film strength they're both going to improve the life your engine the compression power smoothness Cool starts. The question is do you like the change your oil every 5,000 mi or would you rather change your oil every 15 to 25,000 mi That's the question.
@timsavvy3 жыл бұрын
@@Syntheticoilprotection meaning if we're ok changing oil every 5k mi then there is no performance gain between OE vs Signature, is that correct? TIA! 🙂
@Syntheticoilprotection3 жыл бұрын
There is a difference is the cold flow additive packages will also flow better in the signature under cold conditions Those additives are extremely expensive and that's why the signature cost more also the signature series will not thicken as quickly because of the detergents and different specialty additives so there will always be a slight difference at the 5,000 mi interval however it's not enough to justify throwing away the signature series oil soon at 5,000 you would definitely want to run the OE if you were only going to do 5,000

@@Syntheticoilprotection we live near the equator warm tropical climate. It never snows. No winter. 😅

There's also higher quality detergents in the signature series so I always recommend the signature if you live somewhere with extremes hot or very cold I always would use the signature series If it was my vehicle because your motor will last longer your pistons and rings will last longer you'll have more performance and you'll also have better fuel mileage
