What a beautiful video! You told this story so wonderfully! It looked like an amazing experience (minus some of those bites..)! Thank you so much for sharing this - you've inspired me to look more in to syntropic agriculture and would love to create a similar kind of space in my permaculture garden. Much love! 💚💚

Hey Robyn, thank you for your kind words 💛, I'm so glad I could share what I learned and am excited to trying some ideas out at Goldifarms. I'm loving your channel, btw - I'm going to share it with my friend who has soil like yours - solid rock!! But I'm beginning to beleive we are given just the challenges we need in this life. All for a reason. Looking forward to watching your journey 💕🌺

I just visited Chiapas one month ago and everything you say is true! All of it! The shift in perspective, the adventure, the heinous bugs. Also thank you very much for all the invaluable resources! Waybil collective is holding a course in November and I wouldn't have noticed had I not watched this awesome video. Thank you so much!!

Great video. I've been building syntropic systems for nearly twenty years now, most recently in seventy hectares of Venezuelas cloud forest region as part of a Regenerative agriculture foundation we started here in 2011. Total societal and economic collapse here taught us what sustainability really was. What's not sustainable simply collapsed. Everything from banking to toilet paper. Sustainable human habitat is not hippy ecovillages getting tourism and advertising revenue from social media. But that's a great place to start if you don't lose focus of the through lines. 🙏

You have an amazing perspective. Keep this up and you'll have a million subscribers in no time and be on your way to changing the world for the better! 💚I for one, am seeking out exactly this type of content. The 'reflecting on life while busy with a homestead' type. 😁 I definitely look forward to watching you implement this method of gardening at your home. It seems so complex, but soooo important for the future of humanity.🌳

Wild diverse natural succession is why there is life, the building of fertility while producing for all manner of life why it in total is anti-entropic. Or better named syntropy. With those health issues I was thinking it probably takes a long tome to adapt to such an abrupt change in diversity. Awesome experience, well done.

I would like to hear a clear definition of the differences between Syntropic and Permaculture.
@Goldifarms Жыл бұрын
Syntropic agriculture is a biointensive method of agriculture that mimics a forest and was created by Ernst Gotsch. Permaculture is design method to create ecologically regenerative human systems (which goes beyond just growing food, but also incorporates how we get energy, clothing, shelter, etc.) Since permaculture is also concerned with growing food in a regenerative way, you'll find overlap between permaculture farms and syntropic agriculture farms. But ultimately permaculture is a design method for all human systems and syntropic ag is just concerned with agriculture (and has its own set of principles). Ultimately I see it this way - there are many people who have come to the same conclusion - we need to create systems that are regenerative! And they have come up with different methods and ideas on how to get to that same goal. I hope this is helpful in clarifying 🙏💛

Are we guardians of the Earth though? It's a very biblical idea that I have trouble believing in. I prefer the view that we're a small part of everything living, just like our companions on Earth, the animals, the plants, the fungi and the microorganisms. But because we have so much power to cause change, we have an extra responsibility to wield that power wisely. To not upset the balances too much, for too long. That requires understanding, humility and respect. I don't think that seeing ourselves as guardians of nature, nature therefore being something outside of us, is particularly humble. It's putting ourselves in charge of nature, as if "it" is something that needs our help. _We're_ "it". We're just so confused about ourselves and our place in it all that we have a hard time seeing how everything really is. We're the ones that need help. I don't mean to be negative and criticize what you said in the video, it was very good! I know you didn't mean it that way, it's just a figure of speech. But language betrays the worldview of a culture, and ours is one of alienation from nature and the superiority of our species. I think it's useful to be careful with the language we use, otherwise its embedded old ideas can go on shaping our thinking without us noticing, holding us back. New worldview needs new language.

Thank you, i agree. I’ve changed and grown and learned a lot since this experience several years ago- I think that’s the challenge with posting something, the moment you post it you change and expand in understanding. I appreciate your comment 🙏
