@@BitterParadise yes but the most popular ones are usually glass cannons, they stay in the back and only do big explosions and lasers, sypha is a battle mage so she’s always directly in the action and uses her powers very creatively to support that fighting style, add to that the fact that it’s extremely well animated and you get a female character that everyone loves.

@Bcs6 Once again caught you in another lie. Sypha herself is a glass Canon, that dont keep her out of battle and it doesn't keep other Mages out of battle either hello? Plenty of Side and Main character mages once again show the same kind of support and creativity in battle quite often. Everyone in black clover basically fits that description.

Yeah, that did bother me a bit as well, but it makes sense if you think about it. One, she comes from a people that don't write down their history, so she'd have no access to spell books and the like to study from. Granted, it might have made sense for her to take a book or two with her. Considering how powerful she is with her elemental magic, she doesn't really need anything else. She seems to prefer combat and her existing arsenal is already perfect for that. What really bothers me is how little she uses wind magic even though she's clearly capable of it.

Honestly because so often she’s going for the kill shot and wind is rarely that I’m ok. Maybe a badass twister but it’s not nearly as fatal as a fire blast or an ice dagger so it makes sense combat wise why she didn’t utilize wind.

I feel like nocturne didn’t capture elemental magic as well as castlevania og bc the magic belmonts just infuse their skill with weapons w it and use it very straightforward but bc magic is sypha’s only arsenal she’s found such clever and badass ways to use it

It's probably because the Belmont were fighters before they were magicians. It makes since that they would use magic to augment their fighting style first and foremost

IMO it would've been boring if they made it more or less similar in fighting styles. We can be happy we get such a variety with Annette's Earth/Metal Magic and Marie's Summoning Magic to depict the vast magic possibilities of the Castlevania universe even more. If we get more seasons maybe they can have Richter and/or Jules tap into more of their magic side to power up instead of pure fighting

I don't care about that since it would just be a carbon copy of Sypha's fighting style. Richter and Juste have amazing magical fighting styles, that aren't even the same between each other. It's an amazing variety for a sequel show set in the future from the first show

This show was SO beautifully animated! And what a great, adult themed show that pulled no punches. Sypha's powers were so damn cool!!! My favourite moment is around 3:23 when she makes that circle of ice spikes and starts throwing them like daggers or a machine gun or something, so creative!

I love the way she fights. Sypha is not only a magic powerhouse but she is also quite physical with her jumps and reaction times as arrows and other projectiles come flying at her. Not to mention how creative and resourceful she is like how she repurposes the ice she has conjured.
