Syreeta was like Minnie Riperton and Phyllis Hyman, amazingly strong and sensual singers, not "belt singers" like Labelle, Chaka, Aretha, or Jennifer Holiday, BUT equally as musical and captivating . Love 'em all! I wish Stevie would have produced GC Cameron on more things, he was amazing on this collaboration with Syreeta!!

Breathtakingly gorgeous music, written & produced by the greatest songwriter of our generation.........Mr.Stevie Wonder. @@cyndilunsford5714 Stevie and Syreeta's marriage lasted from September 1970-March 1972. The album 'Stevie Wonder Presents: Syreeta' (which includes this track) was released in June 1974...so there is no 'of course' about it; they were not married at the time but obviously had a sound working relationship, resulting in them continuing to work together after their divorce. You may be referring to 'Syreeta', her first album, which was released in June '72...but with their split months before in March of that year, even that album may have been recorded during some trying times for the both of them....

Love Syreeta!!!
@moanman17769 жыл бұрын
This is a wonderful way to honor the gifts of Syreeta. She was indeed a great poetess/singer/songwriter & ARTIST! Upon first hearing this album, I remember thinking how much she sounded like Diana Ross... but only w/ more gravel, grit & gravitas. Obviously, the Stevie influence is deep here, & her duet w/ G.C. is brilliant. Yet it is that special "sad-lovely" quality of Syreeta's voice that makes her so unforgettable. Loved her then & love her now. This woman was a very special entity. RIP, Syreeta Wright.

I was so much in love with this special guy Reginald T X Miller...I had such a chemistry with him...I love him forever till I die...Universal sound is the love song of my life soul...when I think of this song I feel my pass over again and what we lost...if fate allows us and God grant us to return to each other than that what it will be...if not our love will find us in another time...I'm a believer of my faith and I believe he loves me the same in spite of...
I bought this album back in the 70's and was amazed. It really was Stevie at his best and to be honest I preferred it to Fulfillingness.
@brendawilson82084 жыл бұрын
Stevie Wonder had background vocals. He wrote the songs, with a few collaborated with Syreeta. He was married to Syreeta for 18 months ( September, 1970 - April, 1972 -- estimated dates.) I used to play this album everyday.

@@brendawilson8208 I remember Syreeta being on a Rado show here in the UK back in 1974 where they played tracks from this album. I clearly remember her saying that she got embarrassed easily. I'm not surprised you played this so often as it contains some of Stevie's sweetest melodies.
