@@konstantineendeladze9029 I gotchu fam. So the entire song, translated, tells about the rather tragic fall of the Samurai, taking place during the Meiji Restoration. Essentially, a great many atrocities we're committed against the Samurai by their emperor, who wanted to move forward with the rest of the world. The Samurai were stuck in the past and remained overall loyal the entire time. Their fight was with the new Imperial Japanese Army, and not with Emperor Meiji. Many laws were passed against them, forbidding them to wear swords in public, if they failed to comply, their swords were taken and melted down. They also couldn't dress like a Samurai in public, and their topknots were to be chopped off if they were seen wearing them. Additionally, Samurai were no longer allowed to be paid by their Daimyo, so the modern day equivalent would be a veteran having their pension cancelled and service invalidated. In the end, the Samurai inflicted a great many casualties on the untrained Imperial Japanese Army, at the cost of the rest of the Samurai dying out. The Meiji government was plunged into bankruptcy because of the cost it took to wipe out the Samurai. The line "Thousands of cherry blossoms dwindling in the light" refers to the Samurai dying during the final battle. There is also a translated version, by Lizz Robinett, in which the symbolism is easier to understand for those of us that speak English. Edit: There's a movie called The Last Samurai (2003) and if you watch that, it's based off a true story. Only major discrepancy is the officer that was present at the time was a French man of the name Jules Brunet, and not an American officer, but otherwise pretty good.

do you guys know the meaning of the title of this song? it means "thousand cherry blossom trees" sennbonn (千本)- sen means thousand - 本(hon or bon) is a japanese measure for counting trees, pencils, etc zakura(桜)- as I said before, it means cherry blossom. 桜 reads "sakura", but combined with "senbon" we read it "zakura"

@@playlistss4953 I haven’t learned Japanese or anything, but I believe Japanese had the most simplistic symbols, followed by Korean and then Chinese has the most ‘dense’ symbols so to say. There is probably some overlap, but that’s kinda how I tell them apart until I’ll find a better way. I like to think I can guess them alright, but I can’t be 100% sure that it’s a foolproof method. Japanese kanji is not much different from the Chinese equivalent, since both simplified Chinese and Japanese kanji have common origin. Edit: yes, Japanese Hiragana and Katakana tend to be more simplistic so you can differentiate Japanese from that, however in a kanji only word it's hard to do so
