Fall of Assad is a momentous event for West Asia. There will be a change in the regional dynamics. Russia and Iran have suffered a setback. The US and turkey have an upper hand in the new scenario. But there will be a threat of radical islamists and extremism at a time when many nations like UAE and Saudi Arabia are liberalising their societies. Political instability is expected.

Its not a “sdf” or a “ypg” question or “solution” its the Kurdish dream and right for self governance..the new “government “ says that it will be for all syrians but not a word over how the kurds will be treated and they expect the kurds to lay down arms.. im sorry but the kurds have a very bitter taste of doing so in the past.. so either they come with compromise or the kurds won’t lay down arms and rightfully so

Honestly, as long as the U.S. remains involved in Syria, the prospect of peace seems distant. The primary objective of the U.S. and Israel appears to be weakening any efforts toward peace and stability in Syria, as they perceive the country as a threat to Israel. However, if the Syrian people can come together in unity, it would be a positive step forward and great news for the nation.

Syria still doesn't recognize the state of Israel as of today since the establishment in 1948, Syria's normalization of relations with Israel remained prohibited as of today after Assad's fall, because of threats in the Occupied Golan Heights (that should be part of Syria) when Israel occupies.

The new Syrian government should create a constitution like the US and allow for the right to bear arms. This would allow the Kurdish and YPG forces to continue to have their arms and allow their people to have arms to protect themselves. After that you make sure you put rights of individuals and groups into the constitution. Allow them to protect themselves but remind them that they still need to follow the law. After that have the Kurdish and YPG run a local government over one of the cities, then allow them to police it. They still need to follow the laws but this gives them the ability to govern themselves while creating a stable place and have them kick taxes up to their government. Then over time, years and decades you slowly spread out the Kurdish and YPG around and then you have other non YPG and Kurdish people go and work in different parts of the government. Create alliances and marriages through the effort and in 100 years the Kurdish people will just be another group of people inside of the Syrian country.

From what I understand the Kurds are not 'holding out', whatever that means but have not been included because of Turkey. This will be a huge mistake. Turkey pretending the Kurds do not have a right to exist is no better than Israel pretending the Palestinians do not have a right to exist. If there is to be peace this simple fact must be accepted by all sides.
