That chorus… “I can only see two roads ahead, one brings life and the other will bring me death.” I didn’t know which to tread for a while, and the road to death often seemed the more appealing. But I saw you at the Scots/Irish Festival in Dandridge last month and it has stuck with me ever since. Thanks for showing me that the path to life is still open and bright.

I just discovered this album (youtube recs from Colm McGuinness' cover of Siuil a Run) and. Holy shit. When the Amazing Devil came out with The Horror and the Wild, it rewrote my brain and for the life of me I could NOT find anything like it. Every recommendation gave more acoustic folk than rock (I like the Oh Hellos, don't get me wrong, but wrong genre). Last week I started dreaming nigh-constantly of driving my motorbike a coniferous temperate forest. Usually I do dream of the road - every highway I've ever ridden - but a /week/ of Highway 16 from Prince George to Tete Jaunce Cache, and then down the Yellowhead to Kamloops? Really? It's November, I couldn't figure out what that was about. And then browsing the recs for Colm, KZbin threw me on Baobhan Sidhe and I was like "hey! I know that from October Daye!" and gave it a listen, which brought me to this, and now I'm marathoning the album. Holy shit. I need the vinyl STAT. This is going in one of my favourite albums list and since that list is 90% Nightwish, that's a HARD bar to clear, and you've done it. If y'all do a tour outside of America, come to Vancouver Canada. I'd love you for you guys to see our forests, they're a perfect match for this album.
