She is amazing. The facial expressions have put some people off... but I hope Nandi doesn't take those negative comments and force her to change her unique style. I personally think the expressions are awesome. It reminds me of the Maori warriors dancing and the facial expressions called Pukana and whetero where they display fierceness by sticking out the tongue and opening the eyes very wide. It is meant as a welcome and slight warning, and much more. Sacred. She drums body movement-wise, almost like some of the batterie I've seen play at Vodou fetes! They often are described as "pure expression of divine will and wisdom" as if you have tapped into something deeper, maybe spiritual, when you perform! I believe Matt Helders of Arctic Monkies. also makes famously known facial expressions, too. So, you're in great company.
