If you're looking for a SOAD song that is VERY on point for "media is trying to distract us from the very real tragedies happening to people," check out Hypnotize

If anyone wants a more specific song about Palestine, you have "Occupied Tears" from Serj (his solo band). Also, I might be a little biased about SOAD (my favourite band), BUT, they don't have bad songs. Their spectrum goes from chill songs to more agressive ones. They are what I would call "good weird", very meaningfull lyrics :)

I highly reccomend P.L.U.C.K and Holy Mountains from them. Both top 5 SOAD songs for me, both about the Armenian genocide and sadly relevant today for many peoples around the globe. Protect the land and genocidal humanoidz are also the only 2 songs they've dropped since their last album in 2005, both in 2020 after Azerbaijan invaded Artsakh, they might also be worthy checking out. Free Palestine 🇵🇸 Much love from Manchester 🏴 ❤🐝

Free Palestine. Thanks for this reaction, I really enjoyed the connection you made to current struggles. If you haven't, I hope you will react to B.Y.O.B., which is another fantastic song with a deep meaning; it's my fav from them. Hasn't aged a day.

@@GiddyKittynow that you mention It i think i did hear a random new soad music awhile back, but I remember everyone saying it just wasnt the same. This is one of those bands that burned really bright and burned out quickly, after a few years they just disappeared. Serj the singer had a bit of a solo career, but it's been many many years since I heard this band come up at all anymore. it's really difficult to recapture the kind of raw emotion and the hunger that they used to have sadly

My first SOAD song was "Aerials" which is very melodic and accessible for someone raised on classical music. There more chaotic work grew on me very quickly though
@carlosfuentes95063 ай бұрын
Maybe bc it starts with Symphony No. 5. If you didn’t realize that before, then I’m sorry for ruining it for you bc you’ll never not hear it from now on lol

Their one of the best bands ever and i would even put this album slightly behind their 1998 self-title one! The first 3 songs i've ever listened from them were "Sugar!" "War?" and "Spiders" and i've never stopped listening to them since then🤘❤🤟

3:58 The brilliant thing about the song and the lyrics is that, imo, it can relate both in a personal level to one's everyday personal mental state/health condition, and/or on a much more broader sense, Palestine and other conflicts/ wars aroud the world (and even the way the media covers it) and it's still somehow relevant and actual today.
