my high school system except the 9838. some truealerts and spectralert advances on 4903 back boxes. pull stations are actually dual action. panel is a 4010 set to code 3 and is in trouble. first system must of been bells and coded pulls cause my high school was made in 1962 and I found a couch coded pull near an exit and its code is 1-6-2.

The reason NewAge's sounds so odd compared to most mechanical 4903-series horn/strobes is due to him powering it with FWR in his early years of collecting, leading to the strobe dying and the horn also being damaged. In fact, in a now-unlisted demonstration of his 9219 you can see the strobe has stopped working. Thankfully he later got a replacement strobe. I had the same thing happen to my 9236, and for the exact same reason too, thankfully I ALSO got mine fixed. This is a widespread problem affecting all Simplex devices: you simply cannot power them with FWR without eventually damaging their internal electronics beyond repair. (for some reason Simplex just didn't bother investing in the FWR protection components that virtually every other brand has apparently)

He added the key lock to the annun. and has had the piezo in the annun. for awhile. The LED's indicate trouble, system alarm, and AC power. Yes, he built it himself.

My school has 40-30's and 40-50's. Absolutely fucking loud and annoying. The 40'50's are in the classrooms and they are mounted on simplex 40-51 light plates. The 40-30's are in the hallways, the gym and the auditorium. I hate them, I wish I had Edwards Integritys there. Oh and we also have local alarm Gamewell centuries, very rare and cool
