I remember when I went to a mental hospital a few years ago, this girl, and the staff said that whenever she would get pissed off at the staff, she would walk in her room, but before she got there, she would pull the fire alarm, which is right next to her room, and that is why the pulls were replaced to key operated like the one in your video the day I was admitted

Very interesting speaker/strobe! Reminds me of the signals at the Shaw's Supermarket near my college; they have the same strobe plates but with electronic horns. There are also a couple of VA4 horn/strobes and a SpectrAlert Advance in the mix. It used to be a Simplex 2001 system but now they have a FIre-Lite MS-9XXX -series panel of some sort.

The hospital that my dad had his surgery had those old space age strobes but they were speaker strobes. But they old Honeywell and those alarms are gone. Now they been replaced with a EST 3 system with genesis speaker strobes. Cuz when my dad and when I would go to visit. They were in the middle of replacing they system. And one day I was there the fire alarms went off. They do charms but no voice message at all.

It's an EVAX 100 panel rebranded by EST, so the tones are EVAX and the message is EST.

Av32 strobe plates have electro-mechanical horns similar to that of the wheelock ehs-dl1 and true alerts. There is also the va4 horn strobe and va3 strobes which have evolved a bit overtime. This is signified by the flatter strobes on newer models.

I'm 4 years late, but for a panel, I'd recommend a Mircom FA-265. That's my first panel, which I got a few weeks ago. It's simple, but it's got a lot of features for a 5-zone conventional panel. Sadly, it's got many troubles, but it works. I hope this comment helps.

In my High school the lights Plates were Space age electronics AV32 with Vibratones 450D one day I was initiating the Fire Drill I said "it is incredible" I pulled the pull station the alarms went off the panel was a Simplex panel sadly the lights plates and the horns were removed(I saved the olds pull and alarms and lights plates the panel too!) the new system is an notifier Voice E.V.A.C system the pulls are Notifier NBG-12X

I don't understand how the tone can be a 1,000 kilohertz sine wave. That's 1,000,000 hertz! Completely inaudible to the human ear! I've been searching for ages to try and find out what frequency that tone really is, and how i could replicate it for my own use. But i'm at a loss...
