Wow, I love your guys simple, break down , teaching methodology. Systema ( being a military combat system ), seems to be an very comprehensive, and effective self defence system. I wish I had the means or lived near a training center. I bet , someone with this kind of training and MMA experience ( even at recreational level), would be hard to beat, if attacked on the street.

Most martial arts make it too complicated. Yet we don't have time to think in combat so simple is best.

I laughed when he said nutcrackers. For a second I thought he was talking about a move. Then he hesitated when he talked after.

I'm really enjoying your videos. I've always been wondering how we can apply math to our daily life, combats or even thinking. I'm an athlete who is interested in combat techniques. Please keep up the good work.

That last technique in the intro is so cool! (Not the shoulder-lock but rather the rolling counter to it that one just see a fraction of a second of). Now I have something new to train on. Thanks ;-)

So if you have the longer side away from the center of mass like his leg, depending on how close to his center of mass you use your arm or whatever as the fulcrum. That will determine the amount of force needed to move or unbalance his center of mass? If I place the fulcrum of my body like hand closer to his c.o.m. like his thigh I would need more force but the effect on unbalancing his body or c.o.m. is greater than if I place my fulcrum/hand on his knee which requires less strength on my end, can unbalance him/his c.o.m. but to a lesser degree. That is of course leaving out the fact that the knee is a joint and are your opponents fulcrums for controlling their own c.o.m. so one must be prepared for a counter balance move more readily than if I chose his thigh to apply my hand/fulcrum.
