Amasing video. Extremely professional teacher. Also, although it may seem weird, he attentive to the stress levels and damage(even though its training, its some rather serious training!) done to the joints of the person. The calming exercises, even from my side of the veil, the pc screen, make me calm!!! Love that he understands the need for his pupils to get used to a few punches here and there. Its also an aspect used in shaolin to harden their body parts. The calming exercises are extremely Important for manipulating ones adrenaline, plus ones ability to focus. The "no mind" concept. Great teacher...i dare sa, a Master of his art. Once, a part of me, a smal part, for some time, wished to belong in the military, but, well.............. its the year 2014...whats war good for anyway? absolutly nothing... Let us learn the warriors ways to master our inner selves. Not to kill others, to whom their mothers, so much cried to put them here...even if, they have forgotten it...

lol its true.. same for me as well. If someone walks away then they have beat the system. my kung fu is not so good so I do not mean they beat the system by escaping my wrath or anything like that.. Just that you dont have to fight someone who is walking away so that is nice. It meets my criteria of not wasting energy, time or movements lol

i love how each time you watch the master show off his skill, he has his students attack him at 25% speed and power while he goes as fast as he can, id love to see him take on more than one opponent who would swing full speed, and not just straight left or right, but with full arsenal of kicks, knees, punches, elbows and most importantly take downs.

While Systema is interesting and I hope I'll get a chance to try it at some point, I can't help but notice that these masters of kung fu (meaning Chinese martial arts) are wearing Japanese gis and obis. One of them also seems to have the logo of a Judo club on his back.

He is teaching them how he teaches Russian spec ops. Ruthless killers that fight wars. Going into a class like that looking for honor is just stupid. There is no honor in war and people dont give a shit about how you feel about an unfair fight. Martial arts sparing is not about killing, so yes, it is "honorable". People fighting for their lives don't give a fuck about honor. They want to live. If you are a ruthless teacher to soldiers, they will be ruthless as well. They just might live through a unarmed situation if you teach them to not care about the other guy and disregard all honor.
@Yozner
@Yozner 10 жыл бұрын
you are wrong, Japanese Samurai Warriors were all about honor, despite that they were made to kill, there is Honor in war. just because you killed, doesn't mean there is no honor. its what you do on the battlefield that counts.

thanks for dropping real fight science. I wish there was a button to filter replies for martials artists only. Too many of this younger generation (14 - 30 years of age) know nothing about real fighting other than what they watch in video games and Van Damme movies. I movies, fighter get back up again but this system is built to take you down and out, not down with them to grapple like BJJ but down, out and ready for the next opponent. This is TRUE warrior training. I love it.

I hoped to find something 'new'.. to start, his (oops, correction.. realized later that it's Vadim Starov's channel: so it's 'your') techniques and movements triggered something in my brain, some reactions in my muscles, that tenseness and saving to do.. now my turn to find something in my region.. *laugh* no chance, there are systema schools in this Belgo-NL-Germany frontier.. but will see, me being good in research :) ;) many thx for the unaware and surprising motivation! :)

Might be a brilliant fighting style. It's just not very cool to watch when the attacker is instructed in what kind of attack to make. I mean this guy knows what to do as soon as he sees the attacker move. In real life he would have to read the attack before he could even react. I am not saying that it is no good, I am just saying that this does not really proove anything

but still if you practice things like that, you can predict attacker moves or automatically switch between defense positions really quick because in a street fight usually is a minority of professional fighters, teachers or masters, so they skill level is usually poor and easy to predict by they standing or hand position, and this is not a martial art, these are techniques to kill people as quick as possible, because in the war there is no time for hugging, and it didn't show a half of what he knows, not the Russian will teach German how to kill :D but he had a chance to hit a German guy a couple good hits, so he was happy I guess :D

This may look like shit but... if you understand what he says its a different story.... he tells that he uses every single muscle in his strikes which will increase the damage alot. All the muscles in his thigh, hip, chest side, shoulder, arm. combine those and your strike will be like a sledgehammer, easilly destroying your internal organs if done right. Takes years of practise to achive the strike.

What I see going here is a very egocentric man taking out his unfulfilled desire to appear powerful by sucker punching those that -think- they are students of a martial arts form or mix. He thinks it makes him large and honorable but in reality it clearly shows his lack of professionalism and honor. A true master loves and respects his students. Some of you will understand me, some won't. I accept that willingly. Truth and honor of spirit are the same thing. BTW, to be fair, this video and this instructor are not unique. Real power is rare and sometimes difficult to find, but there are some masters that hold to a creed that their sacrifice is also their strength and that of their followers.

On behalf of my teacher and school, well, fuck it - on my behalf - I invite you, if you're real, to Warsaw, Poland. We train last of real, to my knowledge at least, Wushu Kung Fu practice, and if you are willing to partake and share knowledge, you're most likely welcome. What you speak of is what I feel from my teachers and what has pushed me to travel hundreds of kilometres every now and again to pursue further knowledge in the arts.
@henrydavis747

the only reason it seems as if he is sucker punching them is because the lack of translation he doesn't speak the same language as the students. he is there to give them a taste of the class he is incorporating spetsnaz training and systema martial arts which has many similarities with krav maga they believe that you cant hit without first being hit and when i first took a krav maga class it took me off gourd on my first day the women teaching the class walked up to one of her disciples i would call them and laid them out with an elbow to the head systema takes it quite easy in comparison. that are vadim is used to teaching war fighters not kids taking a class in kung fu it had nothing to do with his ego it is simply how they train the people there now know that and can choose to continue with the classes or stop there

Notice the leg grabs starting at 11:40. Those are hapkido grabs integrated with TKD, kung fu (the extremely fast and powerful strikes along the side of the body), and shotokan strikes. Then, at 12:28, he is using tai chi (moving around the persons arm with fluid movements, manipulating their perception of where you will strike) mixed with kung fu (the open and relaxed palm strikes).

Leo Dutra You obviously havnt watched much no rules fighting (either that or a troll), the most powerful knees and kicks form potent muay thai fighters are not enough to stop a wrestlers shot even if they connect in fact it assists the takedown more if you are on one leg, 9/10 a x2 leg takedown beats a knee or kic
@mofogie
@mofogie 11 жыл бұрын
you're a dumbass if you think it's that easy. I was regionally placed in wrestling, had the fastest double leg in the league. Any decent fighter will not let you get an easy takedown, no matter what their style. That's not to say it doesnt happen, but like any technique, it can be properly countered. Also these are military based styles, you do NOT want to go to the ground in a real fight of life and death: too many variables. 1) allies of the enemy might show up. 2) he may have a concealed weapon 3) ground game gets more complicated when you can do maiming attacks that are banned in sport MMA. 4) terrain and environment may make things difficult, like rocks, dust, blinding sun, water. MMA is great, but it's still sport. Systema, Krav, and some KungFu styles, are meant for real battle. There's a huge difference.

I just love how mma heads come on here and say that MMA is the best thing since Sliced Bread.. I have trained in Karate, Judo, hipkiddo, Thai Boxing, ninjutsu and Hand to Hand Combat within the Military And let me tell you what you train in week in week out in a cage for a sport. is totally different from Real life fighting are you showing how to protect agaisn't some one going for the balls, Eyes, Ears, Nose. are you showing how to stop some one from from placing there hands over your face and pushing in on your eye balls in. there is a reason why MMA is a sport and it will stay that way. while the likes of Krava Maga and Spetsnaz are used by armies around the world. All you can seem to answer is one way to beat this is double leg take down get into Mount, in a Street fight you do that the person will go right for your Ears pull down so your head will follow stick there fingers into your mouth grap unto the Lower jaw where you have the bitten power in other words you want be able to close your mouth and they will pull with force more then likely pull the jaw out of place, and you be in so much pain to do jack shit. plus in a real fight you do not want to end up on the ground ever! . you can't see whats going on around you, he's buddies might jump on, he might have a knife, if you did find your self stuck in a fight and are able to punch the throat i will go for that area , a punch to the Throat is much more powerful to a punch to the head it will give you more time to walk around from trouble. will the other guy is find it hard to breath.

In a real fight you don't have time to do those breathing techniques inbetween each punch..LOL you have split seconds to throw as much power as you can in a punch in a real fight. so what's the point of showing this stupid breathing crap???
@SkooTea
@SkooTea 11 жыл бұрын
you see the reason behind it on 0:53. He is taking a lot of punches to the stomach with a force that would make him atleast blink but he showed no single reaction because of the breathing technique. im not saying the bald guy is hitting with a lot of power but enough to make him atleast twitch. but he isn't.

The whole point of training in martial arts is so that you can perform techniques and maneuvers that are split second reactions. You only have split seconds to check kicks, slip punches, interpret your surroundings and make decisions. Why would you draw the line at breathing? All traditional martial arts incorporate some form of the Kiai, which is performed for breath control. Boxers and MMA fighters control their breathing to slow their heart-rate, relax their muscles and reduce their excitation in the ring. Runners, swimmers, and any sport that requires long periods of exertion all train to control their breathing, which I assure you, doesn't come naturally. In terms of this technique specifically it just seems like an extension of the idea that you don't want to be breathing in as you get hit in the solar-plexus. "split seconds to throw as much power as you can in a punch", if this is your technique in fighting, I would work on strengthening your jaw and finding a job where you don't have you think alot.

Andrew Scott That's what I'm trying to say, all fighters know how to exhale when throwing or taking a punch. It's basic, and this Systema is trying to act like It's some AMAZING technique. Also these guys can take a punch in the gut going Shhh..Shhh..Shhh all they want, but it aint gonna help you when you get cracked in the jaw. LOL. idiotic.

very true. one of the best ways to keep your stamina up is to control your breathing. if you hold your breath in while your fighting, or don't breathe at all for extended periods, your gonna lose stamina a lot faster then the other guy.

Of course it looks the same. As Bruce Lee said, everyone has one head, two arms and two legs. There are high and low gate attacks, on straight lines or circular lines. Once things are reduced to their ultimate simplicity, and most direct means of simultaneous defence and attack, all techniques from all cultures performed by accomplished masters will converge. Good video.

Being able to take hits and being able to hit hard seem to be the theme. As well of course when recieving to be conditioned to redirect and employ aggressors deluvered force. Looks good to me. This 'versus' thing depends on individuals circumstance and a degree of luck (or timimg if you prefer).

Now this version of Systema I fully agree with. Extreme emphasis on constantly controlling your breathing during violent acts and immediately after. If you can control your breathing, you control yourself much more. It's a basic often overlooked. I have to say Systema seems to me ( now that I've watched a lot more vids ) to be the best of a few styles incorporated. Ditch the bad, keep the good. Voila! One Bad Ass Systema.

Although I agree for never to say never in combat mechanics and methods but the methods he uses are correct for what he has to teach, the least chance of damage to yourself and no to nearly no traces of the individual (the knuckles have the downside to rip open sooner then other parts which will result in a bleeding)

It is training with semi contact, it is not a demonstration but a teaching lesson. The Russian SpecOps was invited to show moves and techniques to the German trainers, he even had a translator for it. Russian Spetsnaz are considered the best trained (esp regarding hand to hand combat!) in the entire world.

there is not about hurting or not, not effort even, its about learning the movements so they get impressed in your mind, when an attack is happening the mind just react with the things you learn, in simple words: learn the movements until they become instinct...

2/To not lose your balance when someone hits you, again it reduce the damage when your hit cuz your body sustain the force applied on you like an airbag, also more flexibility allows you to take any part of the body of your opponent when is about or hitting you. Its a purely self-defense endurance art using the minimun force possible to applies maximum damage and stay the more longer possible in the fight to save your life and disable your opponent.

belts are traditionally used for chi gung training in southern kung fu style, so yes but no in regards to ranking. as i understand, Systema took a number of different martial techquies & principles to create their style, karate being one of them. remember also reading this on Wikipedia 5-6 years ago, but surprisingly not there anymore, just checked! the first wrist & second finger lock is identitical to the white crane kungfu locks. white crane also influence karate, coincidence...maybe?

The breathing does work for grappling and groundwork situations, but yes in most situations your not going to have time to breathe properly when the fight is in progress and someone is throwing flurries. What it does do is allow you to recover from a hard strike that would normally wind after the fight is done. So if you have to fight multiple opponents in multiple engagements it is useful.
