The thing that always gets me about this song is that while the second verse makes you think that she's getting all confesional about her thoughts on this lover who she thinks is being dishonest to her, I actually think the whole concept of this song (and of the Ctrl album on a more general sense) is about her "present" self talking to her "old" self as her "new" self. This "new" self, being that someone she needed in order to grow, to remind herself of her worth, someone that could help her overcome all of her own insecurities. And I really fuck with that idea. PS: I bet she was high as a kite when she thought of this; I can tell because usually when I get stoned, I start getting this kind of thoughts LMAO
