I have one of these systems on my lathe. I love it but why does it keep defaulting to G53? Can I change the default to G54?

@@passenger6735 thanks for using NEWker controller, you can use MDI to run G54 to swtich the coordinate system, or you also can add G54 in your program.

@@NEWKerCNCTECHNOLOGYCOLTD I do use G54 in MDI and I do insert G54 in a program however if the machine is switched off it defaults to G53 which is not what I want. Is there any way to change this default value?

@@passenger6735 oh, sorry that maybe your controller is too old version, our newest version could save the coordinate status, if you are interested, please contact with your supplier for purchasing newest version controller

Dean, I have tried to use the Hand box with the Panel pulse generator and they seem to interfere with each other. Also the parameters have to be set for one or the other. I would love to see if you have a different result, because I would like to use them together. Rich

Other parameter #1, Used to set if installed with hand wheel, 1 means handhold, 0 means panel.

First contact was through AliExpress but pretty much same thing I think. They are very helpful and support was second to none, and still is 2yrs later, only other day asked a question and got a reply within 3hrs.

No you can set travel limits. It knows axis location and won't allow travel past what's set.

In my case when set servo zero position at machine datum .after power on off the automatically show +2mm even if physical machine doesn't move a bit. Why this is happening can you help in this.

We have same and have big problems with it. Every restart coordinates change, from company said we have to do initial encoders debuging but cant explain us how exactly to do it. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Yes it can

Yes, go into MDI mode then type= G20, hit cycle start and your controller switches over to inches including your DRO's. Example: from X1.000 to X1.0000 > The same goes for Metric (default) same thing but G21 and your back in mm.

is incremental system same as open loop or close loop

No, incremental just describes the type of encoder that is used for feedback to the drive. An Open-loop system doesn't use any feedback.

The GUI design is crap, the enter esc combo on screen is in the reverse order to the ones on the physical pad. Id be pissed off with whoever designed that UI. It visually programmed you to fail.
