The saddest part is when she sings about how if she tells Eliza she likes Alexander, that she would be silent and let Angelica have him, and say she's fine but obviously would be lying, but she's basically then describing how she feels now. Once Eliza told her, she put away her feelings and let Eliza and Alexander meet. She sees fine to the others, but is hurting inside. Basically, no matter if Angelica got Alexander, Eliza would feel this way, and of Eliza got Alexander, Angelica would feel this way. It's just sad to think about how whoever got who, they would put their sister first.

Hoho : Back in those days your family’s social standing was very important, especially when considering who to marry. The Schuyler family was rich and influential from what I’ve heard so Angelica thought her father most likely wouldn’t let her marry just anyone. This is also evident in the first fundamental truth, “I’m a girl in a world in which my only job is to marry rich.” because women weren’t trusted back then and their husbands did most of the work, at least that’s what it looked like on the surface. Alexander understood this as well, he came from a poor insular colony with an absentee father and a dead mother. Taking this at face value, no rich man would marry his eldest daughter off to someone like that. It could also be because Alex was ashamed of admitting it at first, so he deflects it by claiming his familial status is “unimportant” and stresses that even if he came from a bad family, he still “has a million things I haven’t done” which would lead to his fame and fortune.

I hate how I actually kinda understood Angelica. There was this girl, and god for me she was amazing. I was afraid of something similar happening to me. About maybe a year ago I joined a friend group. One of the guys I already met and became friends with at school. His best friend (let’s call him x) was in that friend group alongside a couple of other people I’d never met. I got closer to them and developed a particular fondness for x. I figured he and another friend of mine that I made at that same school would get along great. I introduced them to each other and it went exactly the way I thought it would - they share similar interests and bonded over certain things rather quickly. Now x and I confessed to each other a couple months ago and certain things happened between us, so I was sure there was still mutual interest. Regardless of that I was still incredibly fearful of x and my friend developing feelings for each other but so far that hasn’t happened. We celebrated x’s birthday today and I wrote him a letter which I hid under his pillow (I’m a bit of a poetic type) and the conversation after that turned out great. I’d give x the world.

I think what she realized was that 1: She needs to marry for money; to someone who is higher status in order to please her dad since she's the oldest and there are no sons in her family. 2: Alexander didn't really care which Schuyler sister he married, because all he wanted was to social climb himself and he would elevate his status if it were Angelica or Eliza, and 3: Having realized those two first things, that she can't marry him and that he needs a Schuyler to raise his status, she set him up with Eliza so that she would still be able to keep him in her life. That's why she says she'd never be satisfied and knows that he won't be satisfied either. Because they're both always reaching for higher ground, as opposed to Eliza who is just happy being with him.

What I mean by that is this. At 2:54 you see Angelica talking to a boy. And to the right Eliza is seeing her. Also to the right, behind Angelica is Laurens. At 2:55 Eliza is telling Angelica the lyric,"Yo this one's mine." and Laurens is taking notice to this. Also at 2:55 (The frames go by fast) Laurens is walking away. His eyes being covered. The poor look of horror, confussion, and sadness on Angelica's face when she turned and saw that Eliza too was in love with Alexander is so genuine and heartbreaking. It is clear that she loved him but caused herself pain and gave him away so that her sister could be happy and marry him instead. Also the part where she thinks about what could have happened between her an Alexander is very relatable and brought tears to my eyes. Angelica deserved so much more for being the selfless person that she was. Such a heartfelt and saddening song, it was so well writen and sung, plus the amazing art work in this video is just outstanding and does this song justice.❤

There might have been something there but it didn't last long and not to the point she would cheat. What happen was Angelica's relationship wasn't doing too well at that time (mainly financial reasons) so her eye started to wander a bit but her husband (John Barker) was able to repair it. She was never going to cheat she also had children at this time.

This is so sad, here's Angelica Schuyler, she has been told her whole life that she must marry rich and live up to everyone else's expectations. She has never gotten to truly relax and be herself until she meets Alexander Hamilton. Angelica falls in love with him and, for the first time, she's really herself. She's really happy. Her happiness lasts only two, maybe three, minutes. But then she sees how in love with Alex Eliza is. She tells herself that Alexander is only interested in her because of her status, so she introduces him to her sister. Now suddenly Eliza and Alex are getting married and Angelica finally realizes she was wrong about Alexander. But it's too late. She could've been happy, but she threw away her shot. At least her sister is happy and at least Angelica can keep the man she loves in her life. Here is this strong woman who is forced to bottle up her emotions even though she really loves Hamilton. She can never be happy. Angelica is an amazing character. Personally, this is one of the most heartbreaking facts in this story.
