To protect the turret you just add bed springs on it so the shells would just bounce off from the springs well that’s actually pretty funny. 😂😂

I wish they had more accurately modelled the damage. IRL, only the top panel of the turret would skyrocket away, the shitty welds acting sort of like a blow-out panel.

The "bedspring" armour is designed to defend against RPGs (Panzerfaust in the case of the T-34) by causing the shaped charge warhead to detonate too far from the surface of the actual armour, drastically reducing its effectiveness. The idea is still in use today - see the Coalition armoured trucks in Iraq, etc.
