[t.A.T.u.] Evolution of Yulia Volkova's Voice (1998-2024)

This is a timelapse of lead singer of the infamous 2000s due t.A.T.u., Yulia Volkova's voice.
Yulia Volkova lost her voice in a cancer removal procedure in 2012 in which, the surgeon accidentally caused damage to her vocal chords and left her voice permanently Damaged.
Her voice already started to deriorate before that though, because of excessive vocal strain inflicted on her through the early days of t.a.t.u. which caused inflammed cysts to grow on her vocal chords.

Her songs require her to scream and high notes... If she didnt take care then it can be bad. She can sing soft song and it still sound good. Yulia at her prime not only having good voice but very very pretty as well.

Que duro debio ser para Julia, se ve que desde niña le gudtaba cantar, y el que pasara por un cancer en su garganta y someterce a una operación, perder su voz, que triste!!! y duro para ella...pero admiro su tenasidad y esfuerzo y el no rendirse a pesar de todo por lo que le paso y siga intentando lograr cantar de forma exitosa...👏👏

2016-2017 was her peak after the damage she got. There is so much footage where her voice just sounds amazing, especially that performance where she sang Spasite Lyudi Mir and other songs with a violin. Too bad it's not here. Nowadays her voice is okay, but it often sounds tired. She does rely on playback sometimes, to avoid tiring herself I guess (which is understandable).

Her age also probably plays in a factor, Lena likewise seems to be getting more tired out vocally, although there's theories that Yulia is relying on playback atm to save her voice for an upcoming t.A.T.u. project since Lena implied that there could possibly be something going on "a little later" :P

seems like her voice is recovering...maybe never a full recovery but still something. i still feel we can see that little daredevil personality she has peeking through, i do feel like she changed so much inside and out, that she actually isnt the same person anymore. which makes me feel a bit sad , since she was so unique and gorgeous, but had to ruin herself with surgery.
